This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Analyst - Assistant Manager based in India.

This role offers the opportunity to lead business analysis and technology initiatives supporting critical real-time transaction processing within the financial services sector. You will bridge business users, technology teams, and senior stakeholders to translate complex requirements into effective software solutions. Working across monthly release cycles, you will manage projects, define functional requirements, and ensure comprehensive testing and documentation. The position provides exposure to post-trade processing, capital markets, asset management, and multiple financial instruments. You will also contribute to production support, release activities, and process improvements that directly impact business operations. Accountabilities:

  • Project and release management: Manage software projects across monthly release cycles with limited supervision, coordinating activities, priorities, and deliverables to ensure sensitive initiatives are completed on time.
  • Business requirements and solution design: Work closely with business users, developers, managers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into effective technology solutions, and optimize business processes.
  • Functional analysis and documentation: Develop detailed use cases, functional specifications, field mappings, transformations, and test cases while maintaining complete documentation and ensuring appropriate test coverage for each release.
  • Stakeholder management: Engage with senior client managers and stakeholders to understand business challenges, present proposed solutions, and facilitate alignment across business and technology teams.
  • Testing and quality assurance: Support functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing for complex business scenarios, ensuring solutions meet requirements and are ready for production.
  • Production and release support: Provide release weekend and production support, investigate issues, participate in issue triage, and help ensure smooth implementation of software changes.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Coordinate with teams across multiple locations and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining clear communication, accountability, and delivery standards.

Requirements

  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in the capital markets domain, preferably within asset management or investment banking, with strong exposure to financial services technology and business analysis.
  • Financial domain knowledge: Strong understanding of post-trade processing and the trade lifecycle for financial instruments including fixed income, equities, foreign exchange, derivatives, and financing trades such as repurchase agreements.
  • Collateral knowledge: Familiarity with margin and collateral processes is strongly preferred.
  • Technical skills: Hands-on experience with relational databases and SQL, with Sybase experience preferred; Unix exposure is required. Knowledge of XML and XSD creation is an advantage.
  • SDLC and methodologies: Strong understanding of software development lifecycle processes and project methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall approaches.
  • Testing expertise: Experience designing and executing functional, regression, integration, and user testing for complex business scenarios.
  • Analytical capabilities: Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, data analysis, field mapping, and business solution design skills.
  • Production support: Experience with production support and issue triage, with familiarity with Jira and Agile boards considered a plus.
  • Communication and collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with stakeholders and teams across multiple locations.
  • Personal attributes: Strong ownership, adaptability, curiosity, attention to detail, and the ability to learn new technologies and processes quickly while working across multiple projects.
