Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an ambitious and talented professional to join our transportation service team in as a Senior Project Manager. This is an opportunity to join Westwood’s highly experienced and dynamic team dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients. Our ideal candidate will have 10+ years of diverse roadway design and project management experience supporting public sector infrastructure transportation design projects. This position is responsible for complex engineering design tasks as well as marketing, business development, client contact and sustained growth of a transportation design team.
Requirements
- Manage the design and delivery of multidiscipline projects in a profitable manner
- Supervise the work of project managers and engineers
- Develop project work plans and budget projections and effectively deploy resources
- Review, interpret and act on business metrics, including utilization, backlog, work in process and account receivables
- Prepare, maintain and coordinate schedules of multiple concurrent projects and complex long term projects
- Develop and track milestones to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery
- Complete monthly project accounting and invoicing
- Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures
- Participate in contract bidding, provide limited observation during construction, review submittals and RFIs
- Resolve design conflicts and field construction issues
- Represent clients and firm in meetings with governmental agencies
- Write proposals, prepare qualification packages and lead interviews
- Recruit, grow, mentor and train staff
- Build relationships internally and externally with clients and strategic partners
- Lead business development activities
- Negotiate contract terms and conditions with TxDOT and other governmental entities
- Ensures division, regional, and company values, policies and practices are consistently followed within the survey service
- Lead by example – display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism
Required Skills

- Demonstrated ability to manage complex transportation design projects in a profitable manner
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects under the TxDOT delivery process
- Extensive knowledge of geometric design and other related design elements
- Knowledge and experience with the full roadway project lifecycle from preliminary studies through final design
- General knowledge of construction with experience providing construction phase services
- Track record of successfully winning and delivering projects
- Experience developing and implementing marketing pursuit strategies
- Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with peers, clients, and public agency staff.
- Ability to coach and motivate others
- Detail-oriented but also flexible enough to be big picture/conceptual
Required Experience
- BS in Civil Engineering
- Licensed Professional Civil Engineer (PE) in TX
- 10+ years of progressive experience in transportation design and project management
- This position may require travel to project sites and other Westwood offices throughout the United States
