On behalf of EnergyTech Client #1, SD Solutions is looking for a talented Sales Engineer
The Sales Engineer will support the design, configuration, and performance assessment of battery energy storage systems using our tools and platforms. In this full-time hybrid role based in the USA, the engineer will split time between onsite collaboration and remote work, participating in technical discussions with product, software, and engineering teams.
Day-to-day tasks include providing presales technical support, demonstrations, support to internal stakeholders and clients, reviewing system requirements, assisting with integration and testing of software features related to BESS, and documenting application workflows and best practices. The role also involves analyzing field data, troubleshooting issues, and recommending improvements to system models and configurations to enhance reliability, efficiency, and user experience.

Responsibilities:
- Provide presales technical support and product demonstrations
- Support internal stakeholders and clients
- Review system requirements
- Assist with integration and testing of software features related to BESS
- Document application workflows and best practices
- Analyze field data, troubleshoot issues, and recommend improvements to system models and configurations to enhance reliability, efficiency, and user experience
- Participate in technical discussions with product, software, and engineering teams
Requirements:
- BESS experience and background in the battery storage market
- Strong Technical Support skills, including issue diagnosis, stakeholder communication, and structured problem resolution
- Software Development skills relevant to applications engineering (scripting, API integration, or working with simulation and modeling tools)
- Electrical Engineering skills related to power systems, energy storage, and grid integration concepts
- Mechanical Engineering skills helpful for understanding BESS hardware, thermal management, and system layout considerations
- Testing skills for validating system performance, conducting functional checks, and documenting test results
- Familiarity with battery technologies, inverters, and energy management systems
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, single-line diagrams, and engineering specifications
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field preferred
- Comfort working in a hybrid setup in Boston, MA and managing responsibilities with clear priorities and deadlines
