QA ENGINEER

Overview

Tintri, a DDN company, builds enterprise storage platforms that power mission-critical virtualized environments. Our QA Engineering team is the last line of defense before every VMstore release reaches a customer, validating everything from core storage protocols and hardware resiliency to hypervisor integrations and data-at-rest encryption. We're looking for a QA Engineer who's equally comfortable writing automation code and getting hands-on with real storage hardware, someone who enjoys tracing a defect back to its root cause as much as designing the test that caught it in the first place.

You'll work closely with development throughout the release cycle, not just at the end of it, helping define what "tested" actually means for a given feature before it's built, then proving it once it is. This is a role for someone who wants deep, hands-on exposure to enterprise storage internals (NVMe, RAID, encryption, hypervisor ecosystems) while building the automation that lets the whole team move faster and with more confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, automate and execute test plans and test cases for the storage platforms.
  • Build and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts.
  • Clear understanding of defect life cycle.
  • Collaborate with developers to understand requirements and define the test strategies.
  • Perform root cause analysis of defects and drive issues to resolution.
  • Conduct sanity, smoke, performance and stress test coverage.
  • Document test execution processes and results.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong programming ability with hands-on experience in one or more scripting languages (preferably Python).
  • Good understanding of NVMe, SAS, and SATA concepts.
  • Hands-on experience in Linux troubleshooting & debugging.
  • Experience with any one of the hypervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of NAS & SMB protocols.
  • Storage platform components understanding, including SSD, DIMM, RAID, IPMI, and BMC.
  • Storage encryption concepts.

Education & Experience

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
