About WhatConverts
WhatConverts is a B2B SaaS company specializing in marketing attribution and lead tracking solutions. We empower businesses to make data-driven decisions by providing deep insights into their marketing campaigns and helping them understand what drives conversions. As a remote-first company, we foster a mission-focused and performance-driven culture, valuing integrity, initiative, and innovation.
Position Overview
We're looking for a DevOps Engineer to help software move reliably from design into production. You'll work across architecture, development, and delivery by managing CI/CD, coordinating releases, expanding automation, and keeping projects on track. You'll also build security into the development pipeline, with broader cloud security responsibilities added as you grow into the environment. You'll work alongside our Senior Developers, who set technical direction, and report to our Senior Cloud Architect on AWS and security work.
In this role you’ll get to:
- Own and improve CI/CD across all environments using AWS CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, and launch templates.
- Coordinate releases, deployments, environments, and quarterly code-revert testing.
- Expand automated testing across synthetic monitoring, user journeys, and unit, integration, and endpoint tests.
- Strengthen observability through Datadog, CloudWatch, Real User Monitoring, and log and trace correlation.
- Define standards for error resolution, EC2 lifecycle management, and auto-scaling, recommending architectural and cost improvements while systems administration handles routine execution.
- Keep frontend and backend projects moving from design through testing and production.
- Help Senior Developers turn their plans into clear scope, milestones, and delivery schedules.
- Run planning sessions and check-ins, track progress, and surface blockers early.
- Facilitate incident response and post-mortems, and keep operational runbooks current.
- Build security into the pipeline through secret scanning, Aikido remediation, least-privilege access, and IAM hardening.
- Support security-alert triage, SOC 2 evidence collection, and vulnerability scanning, growing into penetration-test coordination over time.
What we’re looking for:
- 2-3 years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, platform engineering, or software delivery.
- Hands-on experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments.
- Working knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, RDS, Auto Scaling, CloudWatch, CodePipeline, CodeDeploy, IAM, EBS, and AMIs.
- Experience with GitHub workflows, pull requests, branching strategies, release coordination, and deployment controls.
- Familiarity with automated testing, application observability, and tools such as Datadog, CloudWatch, or Aikido.
- A foundational understanding of cloud security, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, IAM, and least-privilege access.
- Experience supporting structured delivery practices such as regular planning and check-ins, work tracking, and cross-functional coordination.
- The ability to work within established processes and under direction while finding practical ways to improve reliability, security, and delivery speed.
- Strong organization, communication, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
- Experience with incident response, post-mortems, penetration testing, or SOC 2 compliance is a plus.
This is an opportunity to make a real impact at a bootstrapped, growing SaaS company where you’ll shape how software is built, tested, secured, and released. Your ideas will be heard, ownership will be valued, and your work will directly improve the reliability and evolution of our platform.
No red tape. No endless layers. Just meaningful challenges, smart people, and the opportunity to build systems that help an entire engineering team move faster. 💥
