Benefits
Full description
If you've wanted to be the person who knows a network inside and out and decides where it goes next, this is that role. You'll lead a multi-campus environment running Cisco Catalyst, Palo Alto, and Aruba that's ready for a fresh set of eyes, get it steady, then modernize it with real say over what gets built and when. This role is a Think Company staffing opportunity supporting network and infrastructure operations for one of our clients.
Quick facts
- Location: Onsite, 5 days per week, Beverly Hills, CA
- Engagement type: W-2 hourly or 1099
- Travel: Occasional travel between client campus locations
- Pay: $70 to $90 per hour, depending on experience
What you'll do
- Serve as the lead technical resource for network, server, and infrastructure operations across a multi-campus environment, working directly with the client's Chief Technology Officer
- Administer and troubleshoot Cisco Catalyst switching and routing, Palo Alto firewalls, and Aruba wireless day to day
- Stabilize an inherited environment first, then plan and execute upgrades and modernization work
- Keep server, storage, virtualization, and cloud infrastructure reliable, secure, and available
- Implement and maintain security controls, identity and access management, and backup and disaster recovery
- Build the documentation this environment is missing: diagrams, configurations, standards, and asset records
- Coordinate vendors and recommend hardware, software, and infrastructure improvements
What you bring
- Deep, hands-on command of Cisco Catalyst switching and enterprise routing, the kind you can demonstrate live
- Practical experience configuring and troubleshooting Palo Alto firewalls, including policy and segmentation
- Experience administering Aruba or comparable enterprise wireless across a large, multi-building footprint
- Strong Windows server and directory services administration, including authentication and access controls
- A working security mindset: patching, vulnerability remediation, access management, and incident response
- The judgment to walk into an undocumented environment, figure out what's happening, and sequence the fixes
- The practical requirements: a valid California driver's license, availability onsite five days a week with occasional evening, weekend, or emergency coverage, and the ability to lift equipment up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in K-12, higher education, or public sector technology environments
- A degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (not required, and equivalent hands-on experience is equally welcome)

Worth knowing upfront: the process is a video conversation followed by an onsite, hands-on technical assessment on switches and routers, plus a comprehensive background check. No surprises, and no substitute for real skill.
