Full description
At Electric Mind, Engineering is where strategy meets action. Our team helps organizations cut through complexity—aligning business ambition with technology execution to unlock real, lasting change. You’ll work alongside curious, driven people tackling high-impact challenges for everyone from scaling startups to global enterprises. Each engagement is different, pushing you to learn, adapt, and grow.
Electric Mind’s Technology Practice brings together deep engineering expertise, modern delivery disciplines, and pragmatic architectural thinking to help clients execute complex, mission-critical transformation. We design and implement scalable, secure, high-impact technology solutions that accelerate business outcomes.
About the Role
Provide second-line support for product, requirements, and planning enablement across a specific but multiple set of assigned teams. The Senior BA mentors front-line team members on moving the team from intake, requirements, and stakeholder review into implementation planning, with enough structure that the output can become epics, stories, Jira items, and QE-ready delivery increments. This role escalates to the BA Lead (or the Project Manager / Project Coordinator) when issues fall outside its remit.
\n
What You’ll Do
- Act as the second-line contact for product and BA/BSA questions across its assigned teams, supporting front-line members when enablement sessions surface something they cannot resolve locally. As second-line assistance, the Senior BA must be able to:
- Help front-line members map existing team requirements practices into the AI-enabled delivery model.
- Mentor teams on refining the requirements-package process for each team’s actual working style, including step-wise review, optional sections, decision-log ID preservation, SME approval flow, and concise stakeholder-review output.
- Help teams distinguish between requirements, solution design, implementation increments, epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and Jira-ready backlog items.
- Guide the implementation-planning and epic/story breakdown flow, including turning functional requirements into epics, stories, dependencies, and reviewable increments.
- Help incorporate client planning conventions into AI outputs, including sizing guidance, story-point scales, Three Amigos review, epic customization, dependency creation, and Jira hand-off expectations.
- Support requirements and planning workflow integration with Jira and Confluence — how requirements are pulled from source systems, how planning outputs become Jira-ready, and how stakeholders review or approve generated artefacts.
- Help define what the tooling needs to support from a product and planning perspective, partnering with the Senior Engineer where implementation details affect developer workflow.
- Coordinate with the Senior Engineer and QE support so requirements and implementation outputs are usable for downstream story development and test generation.
- Reinforce, across its assigned teams, that requirements and planning skills remain practical rather than overproducing material stakeholders cannot digest.
- Support the transition from delivery-team-led refinement to client-led operation by making the requirements and planning workflow teachable, repeatable, and reviewable.
- Help identify and coach their teams when friction and challenges are due to operational, process, or team norms rather than an issue to be resolved with AI, and where possible refer the team to their agile coach or other support resource.
- Mentor teams on the target-state operating model — the current-to-target storyline, ceremony and cadence redesign, and the recommended future team-structure and ways of working.
- Escalate to the BA Lead (or the Project Manager / Project Coordinator) when product and requirements decisions, stakeholder conflicts, or capacity issues fall outside the role’s remit, and surface recurring requirements friction across its assigned teams rather than solving it repeatedly in isolation.
Key Deliverables
- Second-line product/requirements guidance and mentoring for front-line members.
- Requirements-package guidance, refinements, and stakeholder-review approach.
- BA/BSA activity observations and process-mapping support across its assigned teams.
- Implementation-planning and epic/story breakdown guidelines.
- Product/requirements inputs for feature delivery.
- Requirements and planning skill refinements.
- Requirements-friction pattern reporting across its assigned teams.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong product, BA/BSA, and requirements-analysis experience in software delivery contexts, senior enough to mentor other BAs/BSAs.
- Ability to translate existing client practices into AI-enabled requirements, planning, and backlog workflows across its assigned teams.
- Understanding of story decomposition, acceptance criteria, epic/story hierarchy, dependency mapping, Jira operating models, and Confluence/Jira hand-off patterns.
- Facilitation skills with product owners, BAs, developers, QE, and delivery leads.
- Ability to make AI-generated requirements and planning outputs concise, reviewable, traceable, and useful to non-technical stakeholders.
- Attention to detail around identifiers, decision logs, stakeholder approvals, and downstream traceability.
- Working knowledge of the A.I.D.E Framework.
- Comfort using AI tools to complete job functions.
- Ability to Help teams test and validate the story-development / quick-dev skill chain against realistic stories, including UI framework, API, and other story flavours as they become available.
- Working knowledge of the A.I.D.E Framework.
- Comfort using AI tools to complete job functions.
