Primary Job Function:

Support the Korea EPD affiliate and assist Finance Director in ensuring that utilization of resources is aligned with business & financial needs in the country.

Ensure compliance with all Corporate Finance policies, procedures and reporting requirements (timely submission of month-end close reporting template & packages).

Responsible for providing sound business decision-making support to Finance Director through accurate monitoring, reporting and analysis of Actual financial results & LBE forecast.

Provide timely and proactive financial evaluation, information and advice that enables Team to develop & execute effective plans and take informed decisions to achieve its annual financial objectives.

Core Job Responsibilities:

[LBE/forecast]

  • Assist Financial Director in the preparation of quarterly LBE deck including P&L, BS (incl. Operating Cash Flow analysis) and all other supplementary requirements as required (Price Template, PP&E template, Consulting Spend, SG&A analysis)
  • Ensure LBE forecast are based on sound assumptions backed up with justifiable financials & taking into consideration guidance from APAC (Asia Pacific) in terms of LBE guidance and reflect it accordingly.
  • Lead bottoms-up consolidation of inputs from relevant functions, upload financial data and Causals to Bullseye financial system with required granularity.

[Standard Cost]

  • Collaborate with local Operations and Global TP (transfer price) department to calculate Standard Cost on a yearly basis and keep track of TCGM update. For new products, make the calculations on an as-needed basis. Also reconcile Standard Cost and TCGM between actual and forecast/Plan on a monthly basis

Monthly Routine Reporting (to Area, Emerging Markets & Corporate)

Provide monthly analysis report to APAC & attend to any subsequent follow up queries as follows:

  • P&L and BS
  • Price volume variance
  • SG&A and R&D
  • Cash Flow
  • Monthly Tracking – latest P&L estimate
  • Ad-hoc requirements from time to time

Reports

  • Provide monthly SG&A expense report as well as discretionary department expense within EPD in Korea.

Monthly closing

  • Ensure accurate monthly closing by providing necessary input or/and calculation to local and global CFS (Center of Financial Services), including but not limited to revenue deduction accrual, expense accrual, DOH (Days on Hand) calculation for local business, and SRV (Standard Revision Variance) calculation and its amortization schedule. Review D.1.1 and making an error correction when needed
  • Keep track of financial impact of various key assumption changes such as foreign exchange rate, co-promotion fee, special price compensation, and incremental sales price
  • Validate co-promotion fee calculation when actual payment request is made
  • Control expenses to make sure the budget is spent in the most optimal way
  • Respond various data request from CFS, or internal/external audit
  • Collaboration with other department includes APAC Finance and global CFS. Local collaboration would mainly involve SCM, Commercial, RSA, and local CFS.
  • Update P&L Dashboard / Cash Conversion Cycle (DOH, DSO & DPO) slides for monthly S&OP meeting.
  • Assist Finance Director on other ad-hoc analysis or forecast, and finance decision support to other functions (e.g. new product launches, in-licensing or out-licensing deals, etc.)

Minimum required:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 7 years in a financial/planning/accounting role
  • Strong financial modelling, analytical, decision-making & project management abilities.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel skills is a must.
  • Strong verbal & written English & presentation skills
  • Ability to partner cross functionally, through strong relationship building & communication skills, with all levels of management.
  • Possess positive energy & tenacity to drive toward successful delivery with minimal supervision.
  • Display adaptability in quick grasping of understanding of how pharmaceutical business operates and able to easily shift gears from one action/deliverable to another.
  • Curiosity to take deep dives into status quo and drive effective changes (even if it means establishing new processes or what hasn’t been done before).
  • Experience in pharmaceutical industry – desirable
