The Customer Experience we provide rests on three pillars: selection, low prices, and convenience. As the hub of Amazon Japan's Operations business, we operate approximately 30 Fulfillment Centers (FCs) and continue to expand in order to deliver a better Customer Experience. FCs are logistics hubs equipped with cutting-edge systems and facilities, shipping over 1.4 billion items in 2023. FC logistics management is less about running a warehouse and more akin to the process management found in manufacturing.

APEX-RoW Technology Solutions (ARTS), together with the FC Central team, is now seeking a customer-focused Business Intelligence Engineer to ambitiously support FC operations through technology. This position contributes to the Operations division's ongoing efforts to reduce costs, improve delivery speed, and expand selection for customers, by efficiently and effectively leveraging the Big Data gathered from across the entire Amazon Fulfillment Network throughout Japan. By applying the latest methods—such as data analysis, data pipeline construction, and data visualization—to operational challenges, this role drives standardization, automation, and optimization.

この度、APEX-RoW Technology Solutions (ARTS)は、FC Network Planning チームと共に、FCのオペレーションを、テクノロジーで意欲的に支える、顧客志向のBusiness Intelligence Engineerを募集します。本ポジションは、日本全国のAmazon Fulfillment Network全体から取得するBig Dataを効率的に有効活用して、オペレーション部門が継続的にお客様のために、コスト削減、配送スピードの向上、セレクションの拡大をしていくことに貢献します。オペレーションの課題にデータ分析、データパイプライン構築、データ可視化などの最新の手法を提供することで、標準化、自動化、最適化を推進します。

Basic Qualifications: - 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience - 2+ years of Tableau Desktop, Quicksight or other relevant data visualization software experience - Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field - Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools - Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines - Experience using SQL (Structured Query Language) to pull data from a database or data warehouse - Experience using Python scripting to process data for modeling - Experience in English-language communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree or above in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics or equivalent quantitative field - Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including: pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc. - Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift - Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets - Experience developing and presenting recommendations of new metrics allowing better understanding of the performance of the business - Speak, write, and read fluently in Japanese
