Service Credit Union is seeking a full-time, on-site, AI Solutions Engineer who will be responsible for designing, building, integrating, and operationalizing artificial intelligence (AI) and automation solutions that support Service Credit Union's strategic objectives. As a member of the Information Technology team, this position serves as a key technical resource for implementing enterprise AI capabilities, integrating AI platforms with business systems, and developing intelligent automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, decision-making, and member experiences.

Working collaboratively across departments, this role evaluates emerging AI technologies, architects AI-enabled applications and workflows, develops data and analytics solutions, and ensures AI initiatives align with organizational governance, security, compliance, and risk management standards. The ideal candidate combines strong software development expertise with practical experience in machine learning, generative AI, workflow automation, API integration, cloud technologies, and enterprise data environments.

Compensation range: $94,960 - $118,700/yearly, depending on experience and qualifications. Junior level candidates typically start at the lower end of the range, with opportunities for growth as skills develop.

Location: This is an on-site position. Candidates must live within 60 miles of our corporate office located at 3003 Lafayette Road, Portsmouth NH to be considered for this position.

Position Responsibilities:

Enterprise AI Platform Administration

  • Administer and optimize Microsoft Copilot deployment, licensing, configuration, and feature adoption across the organization.
  • Develop prompt libraries, use case templates, training materials, and best practices to support business unit adoption.
  • Monitor platform utilization, adoption metrics, and return-on-investment measurements and provide reporting to leadership and governance committees.

AI Solution Development & Platform Integration

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI-powered applications and automation solutions across business functions.
  • Develop internal AI assistants, knowledge management tools, enterprise copilots, and workflow solutions.
  • Evaluate, architect, and assist with deployment of third-party AI platforms and applications utilizing a risk-based approach.

AI Architecture & Orchestration

  • Design and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions utilizing organizational knowledge bases and approved data sources.
  • Develop and maintain Model Context Protocol (MCP) configurations and integrations.

Operational Automation

  • Collaborate with business partners to identify opportunities for intelligent process automation and workflow optimization.
  • Develop AI-assisted workflows supporting operational functions including fraud monitoring, dispute processing, ACH operations, contact center services, document management, and member communications.
  • Partner with operational teams to improve consistency, reduce manual effort, and increase processing efficiency.

Data & Analytics

  • Develop machine learning models, predictive analytics solutions, and AI-driven insights.
  • Build dashboards, reporting tools, and executive-level analytics capabilities.

Member-Facing AI Solutions

  • Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered member engagement tools including chatbots, virtual assistants, and decision-support applications.
  • Collaborate with member-facing departments to ensure AI solutions enhance member service while maintaining appropriate human oversight and judgment.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure all AI solutions comply with applicable regulatory requirements, including NCUA, FFIEC, GLBA, PCI DSS, and internal policies and standards.
  • Maintain AI solution inventories and assist with risk assessments and new technology evaluations.

General Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality regarding credit union policies and procedures, member financial data, personal information, and work-related events.
  • Provide quality support and maintain a professional relationship with peers, management, other staff, and members through cooperation, empathy, mutual trust, and respect.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, generative AI technologies, and prompt engineering concepts.
  • Strong software development experience utilizing Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, and modern development frameworks.
  • Experience designing and integrating REST APIs and enterprise application integrations.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure and Azure AI services.
  • Strong understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, semantic search technologies, and Model Context Protocol (MCP).
  • Experience with robotic process automation and workflow automation platforms such as Microsoft Power Automate, UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or similar solutions.
  • Knowledge of data engineering, analytics platforms, reporting tools, and business intelligence solutions.
  • Understanding of DevOps methodologies, source control systems, and application lifecycle management.
  • Knowledge of data privacy, security controls, and regulatory requirements applicable to financial institutions.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong relationship-building, collaboration, presentation, and vendor management skills.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Education/Experience/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, or a related field required. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 3 years of software development experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience developing AI, machine learning, intelligent automation, or advanced analytics solutions.
  • Experience integrating enterprise applications, APIs, and cloud-based systems.
  • Financial services, banking, or credit union experience preferred.

Certification(s):

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate preferred.
  • Microsoft Copilot certification preferred.
  • AI Governance or Risk Management certifications are preferred.
  • Familiarity with the NIST AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF) preferred.
