At SMS Equipment, our Business Systems Analysts play a critical role in connecting business operations with technology solutions. Reporting to the Director, Business Relations and Applications, the Business Systems Analyst - Service partners with business owners to implement and optimize business processes supported by enterprise systems and technologies. This position focuses on improving end-to-end business processes through analysis, documentation, system support, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Work Location: Acheson, AB Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 per annum, based on experience Work Arrangement: Hybrid or Fixed On-Site Schedule: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
Please note that this is a temporary role starting in September for approximately 18 months.
What You'll Do
- Partner with business leaders to analyze, document, and improve service-related business processes.
- Lead workshops and discussions to identify process improvement opportunities, system requirements, and operational efficiencies.
- Support and optimize enterprise applications, including ERP, service management, reporting, and warranty systems.
- Provide Level 3 support for complex business systems issues and assist with issue resolution and root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate with project teams on requirements gathering, impact assessments, testing, and solution implementation.
- Ensure business processes align with internal controls, compliance requirements, and risk management standards.
- Support change management activities through training, communications, and user adoption initiatives.
- Provide guidance on emerging technologies and how they can improve business operations and customer service.

You are a collaborative business systems professional who enjoys solving operational challenges through process improvement, technology, and strong stakeholder partnerships.
Additional qualifications include:
- Diploma, certificate, or post-secondary education in a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in business analysis, systems support, or process improvement.
- Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into practical solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of business processes, reporting, internal controls, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to build relationships and work effectively with technical teams, business leaders, and end users.
- A customer-focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
Nice to Haves
- Bilingual in English and French.
- Experience supporting ERP environments.
- Knowledge of BI, reporting, or analytics solutions.
- Experience with JSOX compliance or internal control frameworks.
- Exposure to service operations within heavy equipment, industrial, or related industries.
