Engineering Project Manager

Location: Riverside, CA

Pay/Salary Range: $151,000-$185,000 

Position Summary 

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Manager to manage the development of innovative commercial vehicle projects from concept to launch. This role requires a blend of strong technical acumen, exceptional leadership, and a deep understanding of automotive design processes. This position is responsible for overseeing the planning, tracking and implementation of vehicle engineering and equipment projects from proposal to delivery.  Provides technical engineering leadership for the development of electric, diesel and hybrid automobile technology used in transportation industry.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop an in-house, Best Practice, cross-functional, project management processes that incorporates Gates & Milestones.
  • Oversees the overall project life cycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing of commercial vehicle design projects.
  • Define project scope, Gantt charts, objectives, deliverables, and success metrics in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Facilitate collaboration across engineering managers, design managers, marketing managers, and executives to meet cost, schedule, and quality goals.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation for technical engineering needs for product development and manufacturing.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks, developing contingency plans to minimize potential impacts on project outcomes.
  • Present on project status, progress, risks, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, FMVSS regulatory requirements, and internal quality processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the project management and product development processes.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in project management.

Position Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and four (4) years of experience as Product Manager or Project Manager in the vehicle manufacturing industry.
  • The required four (4) years of experience with Bachelor’s, must have included managing the timely launch of new vehicle products to market, including vehicle product development and testing; ensuring timely project execution and delivery from initiation to completion; defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables; and managing project plans, timelines and budgets.

 

Work Environment: 

This is an onsite position based in Riverside, CA and requires being onsite.
