Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Infrastructure System Administrator to support and maintain the IT infrastructure for our financial services organization. The Infrastructure System Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, performance, security, and availability of servers, virtualization platforms, network systems, and associated technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with VMware, Fortinet, Cohesity, Windows Server, IIS, and BeyondTrust, and will play a critical role in maintaining system reliability and security compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
System Administration & Support:
- Administer, monitor, and maintain virtualized environments using VMware vSphere and ESXi.
- Manage and support Windows Server environments, including patching, user account management, and system troubleshooting.
- Configure and maintain IIS for hosting web applications and services.
- Administer Fortinet firewalls and security solutions to ensure network protection and secure access.
- Perform regular system backups and manage disaster recovery operations using Cohesity.
- Support and maintain BeyondTrust remote access tools for secure user and vendor support.
Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
- Implement and maintain monitoring tools to track the health and performance of servers, storage, and other infrastructure components.
- Respond to system alerts and incidents promptly to minimize downtime and maintain business continuity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues independently or in collaboration with other IT staff.
Security & Compliance:
- Ensure systems and configurations align with security best practices and regulatory compliance standards relevant to financial services.
- Assist with the implementation and enforcement of security controls and protocols across all systems.
- Participate in internal and external audits as needed, ensuring systems meet compliance requirements.
Project Support:
- Participate in IT infrastructure projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
- Collaborate with IT team members and other departments to implement technical solutions that support business goals.
Documentation & Process Improvement:
- Maintain accurate documentation for system configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Identify areas for process and system improvement and provide recommendations to senior IT staff.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as VMware vSphere, Fortinet NSE, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate/Expert (MCSA/MCSE), or similar are a plus.
Experience:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in system administration or IT infrastructure support.
- Strong technical experience with VMware, Windows Server, Fortinet firewalls, and IIS.
- Experience with Cohesity backup and disaster recovery systems.
- Familiarity with BeyondTrust or similar remote support platforms.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of system administration, server infrastructure, and virtualization technologies.
- Understanding of network fundamentals and security best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to manage tasks independently and prioritize work effectively.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.
