Summary:
Goldbelt Nighthawk, LLC is looking for a Network Engineer III. This position will support the BIA Information Technology Support Services contract, working alongside other Network Engineers. To support the contract, at least one Network Engineer shall be on call 24x7x365.
Preference will be given to Alaska Native and/or American Indian applicants.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop system specifications, architecture designs, integration, and test plans
- Develop risk management and mitigation strategy
- Plans, designs, and evaluates new and existing computer network systems and services, including local area networks, wide area networks, intranets, and the Internet, providing analytical, technical, and administrative support
- Plans, oversees, develops, and implements network policies and procedures and ensures network integrity as maintenance and modification projects to existing applications are undertaken
- Evaluates new products, performs network problem resolution, and assists in the development and documentation of technical standards and interface applications
- Monitors protocol compatibility, performs system tuning, and makes recommendations for improvement
- Responsible for designing, installing, and troubleshooting network systems (including wireless) to meet the functional objectives of the business
- Involved with the configuration and maintenance of physical and logical network components
- Performs capacity and resource planning, assessing network risks and contingency planning.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Expert knowledge and experience as a Network Engineer
- Demonstrated substantial experience with state of the art routing protocols, VLAN configurations, network design, wireless network design and implementation, troubleshooting network performance issues in a large scale and complex network environment, and applying current industry standards and best practices for large scale networks in design, problem resolution, capacity planning, and proactive methodologies to prevent LAN/WAN performance issues, as well as proven network documentation practices
- Excellent time management, analytical skills, attention to detail and technical writing proficiency
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related discipline or 6 years' work-related experience
- Minimum six (6) of more years of relevant work experience
- Able to obtain a success background check by BIA Security for the Public Trust, Level 6C clearance
- Must be a US citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certification in Cisco, VMware, and/or ITIL is desired
- This position includes hiring preference for Alaska Native and American Indian applicants
Pay and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $110,00.00 to $115,000.00 annually.
