Project Manager – Cleveland-Cliffs Facility (Middletown, OH)

 

MPS Group, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager to lead high‑impact, hands‑on field operations at the Cleveland-Cliffs Facility in Middletown, OH. This role oversees all operational activities for a large‑scale, multiphase, and technically complex projects. You’ll serve as the on‑site lead, driving safe, efficient, and high‑quality execution while ensuring every phase of the project meets customer expectations and aligns with MPS Group’s safety and performance standards.

 

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:15 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., with overtime as needed.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead full project planning and setup, including proposals, dispatch sheets, material requisitions, and personnel/equipment scheduling.
  • Direct daily job‑site assignments for supervisors, operators, and technicians to maintain seamless workflow.
  • Prepare and submit all project documentation for customer approval and invoicing.
  • Ensure pre‑task safety plans are completed and that field teams receive thorough safety briefings.
  • Assign appropriate safety personnel and maintain continuous hazard monitoring, mitigation, and control.
  • Conduct impromptu site audits to validate employee skills, safety compliance, and adherence to pre‑task plans.
  • Manage subcontractors, ensuring scope alignment, performance, and full compliance with contract terms.
  • Confirm adequate resources are available to complete all project tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Oversee implementation of essential OSHA‑required programs: fall protection, confined space entry/rescue, LOTO, ventilation, lighting, and communication systems.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, conflict resolution, and on‑the‑job training for crew members, including mentoring new hires on corporate safety programs.
  • Serve as the primary customer liaison, monitoring additional or out‑of‑scope work and managing change orders.
  • Ensure timely submission of all job‑related documentation, including reports, time sheets, incident forms, disciplinary actions, and progress updates.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of industry‑related experience (environmental, construction, industrial services, etc.).
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain a CDL preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to walk up to three miles per shift.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs without difficulty.
  • Ability to lift, carry, or pull materials over 50 lbs.
  • Must pass a background check, drug test, and physical.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of industry‑related experience.
  • OSHA 30‑Hour and HAZWOPER (required prior to hire; may be obtained through company‑sponsored training).
  • Confined Space Rescue. PIT certification, and other relevant technical credentials.
