Summary

We are looking for an experienced Cloud DevOps Engineer to join our team and help us design, build, and support a new website platform for one of our clients. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of provisioning and maintaining scalable AWS cloud based solutions with enterprise level organisations.

Responsibilities Design, implement, streamline and automate DevOps strategies for building, testing, releasing and deploying Web applications and services on AWS Provision and maintain scalable AWS cloud infrastructure using CloudFormation or AWS CDK, and ensuring consistency across non-production and production environments Manage the AWS infrastructure and ensure that it meets the client’s KPIs of scalability, reliability, availability, security and cost effectiveness Monitor and troubleshoot pipelines, infrastructure and application performance issues Tune AWS resource utilisation, compute auto scaling and database queries for maximum efficiency and cost effectiveness Implement AWS IAM policies, principle of least privilege and network isolation (VPCs, subnets and security groups), to ensure security compliance across pipelines and cloud environments Establish and maintain automated backup policies for databases and any persistent storage Define, document and test recovery point objectives (RPO) and recovery time objectives (RTO) as part of disaster recovery planning and drills.

Collaborate with developers, QA engineers and client ops teams to improve software development lifecycle Keep current with the latest AWS Cloud DevOps features Work closely with colleagues and client teams in the EU (UK & Portugal) and Brazil You will take part in peer review of team deliverables, attend and take part in agile ceremonies, and demonstrate delivery of your work to client stakeholders at the end of each sprint

We are looking for someone that has: Experience with the AWS Cloud Stack management (Lambda, EC2, S3, VPC, Route53, CloudFront, etc…) Strong proficiency with infrastructure as code (IaC) and configuration management (such as Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Ansible, etc…) Demonstrable experience with CI/CD methodologies and tooling (including GitHub actions, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline) Strong scripting skills in Python or Bash for infrastructure automation and task orchestration Practical experience with AWS backup, KMS encryption, snapshot and secret management Hands on with Observability tools including logging, metric collection, alerts and APM tools (such as AWS CloudWatch, Grafana, etc...) Strong knowledge of network fundamentals (DNS, load balancing, firewalls, routing tables, etc…) Excellent analytical skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing infrastructure challenges Working within a project management/agile delivery methodology as part of a wider team Excellent communication and teamwork skills Fluent in English

Here are some other skills and experience that would be considered a plus for this role: Experience with setting up eval driven CI/CD pipelines to evaluate AI agent outputs before code is merged Secure Agent sandboxing, isolated runtime environments and scoped agent execution blast radius Working knowledge of Identity management services such as Auth0 and Azure Entra ID Experience with security and compliance best practices Experience writing performance & benchmarking scripts Possession of relevant AWS or DevOps certifications
