The Conservative Party is looking for a Graphic Designer to join our Digital team based in London. As a graphic designer, you'll take concepts and ideas and create viral visual representations, in both print and electronic media. You’ll be responsible our visual storytelling online, executing a consistent high-volume pipeline of content for our owned channels and more. The successful candidate will be able to work in an extremely fast-paced and ever-changing environment, and they will play a key role in ensuring Conservatives stay ahead of the curve in the way we produce and share our digital content. They will take written or spoken ideas and convert them into designs that connect. They will be part of the most exciting team working in politics this side of the Atlantic – and their work will touch millions of people every day. Your responsibilities · Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategise with the team on a wide range of materials that may include web pages, presentations, programming collateral, signage, internal communications, newsletters, and marketing materials · Translate strategic direction into high-quality design within an established brand identity · Develop concepts by hand or with software, and execute original content by determining the ideal usage of colour, text, font style, imagery, and layout · Manage the design and uploading process for all project materials, based on best practices for using a content management system · Use trend intelligence and knowledge of historical and current markets when designing and executing specific classifications
What we’re looking for Essential · Exceptional creativity and innovative design skills · A portfolio showing two or more years of experience (academic and professional) with design software, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects · Excellent communication and presentation skills · Organisational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment · Desire to continue building skill set with education and training · Strong understanding of typography, messaging hierarchy, colour and composition Desirable · Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in graphic design, art, or related discipline
