About MODE Global

MODE Global is a $4B+ multimodal transportation leader providing comprehensive supply chain solutions across North America. With a broad network and services spanning truckload, LTL, parcel, intermodal, air, and ocean, we help businesses move what matters through technology, innovation, and strong partnerships.

At MODE, we're always looking for talented people who bring fresh ideas, ask thoughtful questions, and want to make an impact.

About the Role

Are you someone who loves working with numbers but is even more interested in the story behind them? Do you enjoy digging into data, identifying trends, and helping businesses make smarter decisions?

MODE Global is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A to join our Finance team. This is an opportunity to go beyond traditional financial reporting and play an important role in understanding what drives our business performance.

You'll partner with finance leadership, office and regional leaders, and our Business Intelligence team to support budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and strategic decision-making. Using tools like Workday Adaptive Planning and Power BI, you'll connect financial results with real business activity, develop meaningful performance metrics, and help leaders understand where we're succeeding and where we can improve.

We're looking for someone who is naturally curious, enjoys solving problems, and isn't afraid to ask why. If you like turning complex data into practical insights and recommendations that make a difference, we'd love to hear from you!

What You'll Do

• Drive budgeting and forecasting: Lead key components of our annual budget and quarterly forecasting processes using Workday Adaptive Planning. Partner with office leaders, department heads, and finance leadership to develop accurate forecasts and support long-term business planning.

• Understand what drives performance: Analyze sales, revenue, and gross margin trends, including volume, pricing, customer mix, and other business drivers. Go beyond the numbers to explain what's changing and why.

• Partner with business leaders: Work closely with office and regional leaders to review financial results, evaluate performance, and identify opportunities to improve revenue, margins, and profitability.

• Build meaningful KPIs: Develop and maintain performance scorecards and KPIs that help measure office-level results and give leaders better visibility into their business.

• Turn data into insights: Leverage Power BI transaction and office data alongside Adaptive Planning to uncover trends, identify profit drivers, and help guide business decisions.

• Own monthly financial reporting: Prepare monthly reporting packages, including actual results compared to budget, forecast, and prior year, with clear explanations of key variances and business trends.

• Present the story behind the numbers: Prepare and present financial reports, KPI dashboards, and variance analysis to finance and executive leadership.

• Identify opportunities: Recognize trends, risks, and opportunities in financial and operational data, then translate your findings into actionable recommendations.

• Build financial models: Develop models to evaluate business scenarios, pricing strategies, cost initiatives, capital expenditures, and investment opportunities.

• Support strategic decisions: Provide ad hoc analysis and financial insights to help leaders evaluate business initiatives and make informed decisions.

• Improve our tools and processes: Help enhance Workday Adaptive Planning, including sheets, reports, and model structures. Partner with the BI team to improve dashboards, reporting capabilities, and data accessibility.

• Make things better: Look for ways to streamline reporting, automate workflows, and improve data accuracy and consistency.

• Support team development: Review work prepared by Financial Analysts and share your knowledge to help support their professional growth.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.

• 3–6 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or financial analysis. Experience supporting sales, revenue, or gross margin analysis is especially valuable.

• A naturally curious mindset and a desire to understand why financial results change, not just report what happened.

• Examples of using data and analysis to influence a business decision, improve a process, or drive better financial results.

• Experience developing and tracking KPIs to measure business, location, or office-level performance.

• Strong experience with Workday Adaptive Planning is preferred, particularly building sheets and reports. OfficeConnect experience is a plus.

• Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools and the ability to analyze financial and operational data.

• Advanced Excel skills and a solid understanding of financial modeling best practices.

• Comfortable working with financial statements, including the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Confident communication skills and the ability to explain financial information to audiences at all levels, including executive leadership.

• An interest in leveraging AI and emerging technologies to improve financial analysis and productivity is a plus.

• Familiarity with private equity-backed businesses is a plus.

• A hands-on approach and willingness to jump in wherever needed, whether the work is tactical, analytical, or strategic.

• The ability to adapt, collaborate, and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving business environment.
