POSITION SUMMARY
American Momentum Bank is a privately held, Texas-chartered community bank operating banking centers across Texas and Florida. The Project Manager, Enterprise Initiatives is a high-visibility role responsible for driving the Bank’s most important cross-functional projects from concept through implementation — and for making certain those projects deliver measurable results on day one.
This position sits at the intersection of revenue growth, operational efficiency, and corporate development. The Project Manager will partner with executive management and line-of-business leaders across lending, deposits, treasury management, operations, technology, and retail banking to define scope, build execution plans, hold owners accountable to timelines and budgets, and report progress to the executive team and the Board. The role also serves as a key integration resource during acquisitions and the onboarding of new teams and markets.
The successful candidate operates with a high degree of autonomy, brings executive-level presence and judgment, writes and presents exceptionally well, and is comfortable moving quickly in a growth-oriented environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Revenue and Growth Initiatives
- Manage initiatives targeting core deposit and lending growth across commercial, retail, and specialty deposit verticals, including campaign design, execution tracking, and post-implementation measurement.
- Drive treasury management growth projects — product implementation, onboarding workflow improvement, sales enablement, and pricing/packaging initiatives — in partnership with Treasury Management leadership.
- Translate strategic objectives set by the CEO, executive team, and Board into structured project plans with defined owners, milestones, budgets, and success metrics.
Operational Efficiency
- Identify, scope, and execute efficiency initiatives across deposit operations, loan operations, the customer contact center, and the branch network.
- Partner with Operations, Technology, Credit, Compliance, and Risk Management to ensure process changes are controlled, documented, auditable, and consistent with regulatory expectations.
- Establish and track key performance indicators that demonstrate efficiency gains, expense reduction, or capacity created — and report results to executive management.
Mergers, Acquisitions, and Team Integration
- Serve as a key project resource during acquisition due diligence, conversion planning, and post-close integration.
- Build and manage integration workplans covering systems conversion, product mapping, customer communication, staffing transitions, and branch or market onboarding.
- Track integration milestones, risks, and issue resolution; escalate obstacles promptly and drive them to closure.
Project Governance and Execution
- Maintain the Bank’s enterprise project portfolio — scope, sequencing, dependencies, resource requirements, budget, and status — and recommend prioritization when resources compete.
- Deliver clear, concise executive reporting, including written status summaries, dashboards, business cases, and Board-level materials.
- Hold project owners accountable to committed dates and deliverables, including leaders who do not report to this position.
- Ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and effective from the first day of implementation.
Relationship and Communication Management
- Work effectively across all lines of business and at every level of the organization, from front-line associates to the executive team and Board of Directors.
- Travel approximately 10% of the time throughout the Bank’s Texas and Florida markets to understand market-level needs, gather front-line input, and support implementation on the ground.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Five or more years of project management, strategy, consulting, or operational leadership experience, with a meaningful portion in banking or financial services.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional projects with measurable financial or operational outcomes.
- Exceptional written communication skills; able to produce polished executive memoranda, business cases, and Board materials with minimal editing.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to build financial models, quantify project impact, and interpret operating and financial data.
- Working knowledge of bank platforms and core systems, along with the ancillary systems supporting lending, deposits, treasury management, and operations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time throughout Texas and Florida.
Preferred
- Experience with bank mergers and acquisitions, systems conversions, or de novo market expansion.
- Familiarity with fintech providers and third-party vendors serving the financial services segment, including vendor evaluation and third-party risk considerations.
- Project management certification (PMP, Six Sigma, or comparable).
- Prior experience in a community or regional bank in a growth environment.
COMPETENCIES AND ATTRIBUTES
- Ownership — takes full responsibility for outcomes and does not require close supervision to move work forward.
- Autonomy and judgment — makes sound decisions independently and knows when to escalate.
- Influence without authority — secures commitment and follow-through from peers and senior leaders across the organization.
- Bias for action — comfortable in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent priorities and competing deadlines.
- Attention to detail — delivers accurate, complete, and well-presented work product.
- Discretion — handles confidential strategic, financial, and personnel information appropriately.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS
Performance in this role will be evaluated against the following:
- Projects delivered on schedule and within approved budget.
- Measurable efficiency improvement in deposit operations, loan operations, the contact center, and the branch network.
- Effectiveness of implemented initiatives at go-live, as confirmed through post-implementation review.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
