We are seeking an experienced and proactive Project Manager to join our growing property development business.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for coordinating residential and commercial development projects from the initial planning and permitting stages through construction, finishes and completion.
This is a hands-on role for someone with a strong understanding of the Maltese property and construction environment, who is comfortable working on-site, coordinating multiple stakeholders and proactively following up to ensure projects progress according to plan.
You will work closely with the company owners, architects, engineers, contractors, suppliers and relevant authorities, acting as the key link between all parties involved in each development.
Tasks
Project Planning & Administration
- Coordinate projects from the initial planning stage through to completion.
- Liaise with architects, periti, engineers, quantity surveyors and other consultants.
- Coordinate planning applications and follow up with the Planning Authority (PA), BCA and other relevant authorities.
- Follow up on permits, approvals, insurance, bank guarantees and other project documentation.
- Maintain accurate and organised project records.
- Assist with project timelines and cost tracking.
Construction & Site Coordination
- Conduct regular visits to project sites and monitor progress.
- Coordinate contractors, subcontractors and site personnel.
- Develop and monitor project timelines and milestones.
- Identify delays, issues and potential risks and proactively follow them up.
- Coordinate materials and deliveries to site.
- Monitor general workmanship and ensure projects are progressing to the required standards.
- Communicate issues and recommended solutions to the owners.
Finishes & Procurement
- Coordinate finishes, fixtures, fittings and building materials.
- Liaise with suppliers and obtain quotations.
- Follow up on orders and deliveries.
- Coordinate contractors and suppliers regarding finishing requirements.
- Assist with client meetings and presentation of available finishing options.
Stakeholder Management & Reporting
- Act as the central point of coordination between the owners and all project stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates on project progress.
- Highlight risks, delays and outstanding matters.
- Ensure actions are followed up and completed within the required timeframe.
- Maintain clear and professional communication across all parties involved.
Additional Responsibilities
- Use relevant project management and design applications.
- Assist with basic website and social media management relating to property projects where required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in property development, construction or project coordination.
- Good understanding of the Maltese construction and property development process.
- Knowledge of Planning Authority (PA), BCA and related permitting processes.
- Good understanding of building materials and construction practices.
- Experience coordinating architects/periti, engineers, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders.
- Ability to manage approximately 3–4 projects simultaneously.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant project/design software.
- A valid driving licence and your own vehicle.
- Willingness to travel to different project sites across Malta.
- Good knowledge of Maltese localities.
