We’re hiring a Project Manager - Government Contracts at our Corporate Headquarters in Columbia, MO, and we’re looking for someone who’s ready to grow with us, bring energy and drive to their work, and help us build the future of construction. This position is fully remote.
Project Manager will provide high-level support for Federal, State, Local, and Education (SLED) government contracts. This role supports the full contract lifecycle while ensuring compliance, audit readiness, and adherence to regulatory requirements. The position requires advanced organizational skills, discretion, independent judgment, and significant experience supporting government contract operations, including GSA Schedules and multi-award IDIQ vehicles. This role requires managing complex contract documentation, coordinating cross-functional teams, and supporting executive leadership in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide support for the management and enforcement of government contracts
- Review contract documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance prior to execution
- Prepare, process, distribute, and archive contract documents, modifications, amendments, and correspondence
- Maintain physical and electronic contract files in auditable condition
- Audit contracts and supporting documentation to ensure regulatory compliance
- Enter, track, and manage contracts within internal databases and contract management systems
- Maintain and update online systems associated with Federal, State, Local, and Education contracts (e.g., GSA portals, SAM.gov, eBuy, etc.)
- Track contract obligations, expiration dates, renewals, funding ceilings, and reporting deadlines
- Coordinate audit responses and assist in compiling documentation for government audits and investigations
- Handle Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and other formal information requests from government agencies
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and executive summaries related to contract status and performance
- Assemble information from multiple departments to create presentations for meetings related to contracting processes
- Coordinate meetings, travel arrangements, conference calls, video conferences, training sessions, departmental budgets, and expense reports
- Support process improvements and update internal procedures to reflect regulatory or operational changes
- Maintain management-level calendars and scheduling for contract milestones and deliverables
- Provide professional customer service to internal and external stakeholders
- Perform other related duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

- Ability to work independently
- Strong knowledge of government contract administration processes
- Working knowledge of Federal contracting environments and compliance standards
- Experience with the GSA Schedules Program and multi-award IDIQ contract vehicles preferred
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and government representatives
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet strict deadlines
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and contract/database management systems
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new systems and regulatory requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is preferred but not required
- At least 2 years of experience in a project management role or similar experience
- Knowledge of and experience with government contracting concepts, including FAR and DFAR requirements
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
