About the Company

Mogo's mission is to enable upward social mobility for people in diverse communities around the world by providing entrepreneurs who are excluded from traditional banking systems with access to credit. By combining asset financing, fintech, AI-based underwriting, and proprietary car portals, we enable these local entrepreneurs (motorcycle taxi riders, Uber/Bolt drivers, and small business owners) to find and purchase their own vehicles.

About the Role

We are looking for a Junior Financial Analyst to support the financial performance, operational efficiency, and growth of Mogo Kenya. This role provides exposure across multiple areas of finance, including treasury, financial control, business control, and fundraising, offering an excellent opportunity to build a broad foundation in financial operations.

This is a hands-on analytical position for a numerate, detail-oriented early-career professional who enjoys working with data and is eager to develop expertise across the full finance function.

What You Will Do

  • Treasury & Payments
  • Support day-to-day cash management and the execution of payments for Mogo Kenya.
  • Help reconcile bank and payment-platform balances, and flag discrepancies for review.
  • Assist in automating cash and payment flows (e.g., building or maintaining Excel/Python tooling) and in strengthening financial controls around them.
  • Prepare cash position summaries and short-term liquidity reports.
  • Business Control
  • Build and maintain dashboards and analyses (Excel, SQL, Python) that surface cost and process-optimization opportunities across call centre, field, commercial, finance, procurement, accounts payable, and broader operations.
  • Support recurring operational reviews with clear, well-structured analysis.
  • Financial Control
  • Support the production of P&L, balance sheet, and portfolio analytics, including product and service splits.
  • Prepare inter-company recharge schedules between Mogo Kenya and related Mogo/Eleving entities for review.
  • Assist in the forecasting and budgeting cycle — gathering inputs, populating models, and tracking actuals against budget.
  • Fundraising & Investor Relations
  • Support the sourcing and closing of investment deals by preparing data, analyses, and presentation materials.
  • Help maintain data rooms and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with covenant tracking, investor reporting, and compliance follow-ups.

What You Have

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or another quantitative field.
  • Some practical experience (through an internship or up to 2 years of work experience) in finance, treasury, audit, FP&A, data analytics, or a related field.
  • Excel: advanced proficiency (complex formulas, pivot tables, lookups, clean model and report structuring).
  • SQL: able to write queries to extract, filter, join, and aggregate data from databases.
  • Python: comfortable using Python (e.g., pandas) for data cleaning, analysis, and basic automation.
  • Exposure to financial services, fintech, lending, or multi-country operations.
  • Experience working with BI and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • A solid understanding of accounting fundamentals, including P&L, balance sheets, and reconciliations.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet reporting deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present analysis simply and understandably.
  • A proactive and curious mindset, with a strong willingness to learn across the full finance function.

What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months):

  • You build a strong understanding of Mogo Kenya's financial operations and become a reliable contributor across treasury, financial control, and business control functions.
  • You turn raw data into actionable insights and deliver accurate, timely reporting that supports key business decisions.
  • You automate and improve existing processes, helping the finance team work more efficiently.
  • You become a trusted partner for data and analysis and start taking ownership of cross-functional projects that contribute to the company's growth.

What We Offer

  • An opportunity to build a broad foundation across multiple finance disciplines rather than being limited to a single function.
  • Continuous personal and professional development opportunities to accelerate your professional growth through meaningful responsibility from day one.
  • Monthly housing allowance.
  • Relocation support, including flights, visas, and vaccinations.
  • Monthly housing allowance.
  • 2 flights home per year.
  • Bonuses based on company and individual performance.
