About the Role

Sound Physicians, a leader in improving quality and reducing the cost of healthcare for patients in the communities we serve, is looking for a dynamic, experienced, and organized self-starter to join our Finance Operations team as a Senior Financial Analyst focused on hospital medicine services. This is a challenging role with the potential to make a large impact on the service line.

The Senior Financial Analyst partners with the Business Development team to drive organic growth. Sound Physicians is investing heavily in growth and is expanding its BD Finance team responsible for developing pro forma models to determine the appropriate program structure and pricing for new business opportunities. This team member will work across the hospital medicine, emergency medicine, critical care, and anesthesia service lines. The team member will report to the Director of Finance and will often interact with the Senior VP of Finance, Chief Growth Officer, Regional VPs of Business Development, and Business/Clinical Operations.

In this role, you will be responsible for: 

  • Building and performing complex financial analysis in areas such as site and service line historic performance, projecting future results, identifying potential opportunities and risks, etc.
  • Assisting in the budget process, including working with business leaders to identify trends and quantify financial impacts in order to maximize site-level profitability and Sound’s value to its hospital partners
  • Preparing pricing models and analysis for contract amendments & renewals
  • Working closely with Clinical and Operations leaders to ensure that financial statements accurately reflect operational activities and contract terms
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly operating reviews & explaining financial variances to service line leadership

Knowledge: 

  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance required
  • Strong background in Microsoft Excel required
  • Strong understanding of finance and accounting including but not limited to financial statements, return on investment, variance analysis, etc.
  • Highly analytical, detail oriented and organized
  • Proven ability to develop, define and execute complex financial analysis
  • Demonstration of cross-functional collaboration and ability to execute work across numerous functional areas

Experience:  

  • 3 - 5 years related experience in financial planning and analysis, accounting or consulting

Salary Range:

  • $95,000-$115,000 annually. Exact pay will be determined based on candidate experience, and geographical location
