The Team
The Commercial Finance team partners with business leaders across the firm, providing financial insight and commercial support to help drive performance and strategic decision-making. Our expertise covers financial planning, management reporting, business partnering, business cases and performance management.
This opportunity sits within a team of experienced Commercial Accountants, supporting our Commercial Advisory and Corporate Finance practice groups. The team is responsible for delivering meaningful analysis and insight that helps business leaders understand performance, identify opportunities and make informed decisions.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Commercial Finance Analyst or Senior Commercial Finance Analyst to join our growing team.
This role offers an excellent blend of commercial finance and data analytics, with approximately 70% focused on reporting and data analysis and 30% on core finance activities. You will play a key role in transforming complex data into actionable business insight, supporting effective business partnering and influencing strategic decision-making.
You will take ownership of reporting, systems and data production, ensuring stakeholders receive accurate, timely and meaningful information to support financial and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
As part of the Commercial Finance team of around 20 employees you will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Supporting the month-end by making agreed accounting adjustments and supporting with P&L reviews, as well as producing monthly reporting packs, commentary and variance analysis.
- Taking ownership of assigned reporting deliverables, such as weekly and monthly KPI reporting for the business, ensuring outputs are complete, accurate, validated and delivered to agreed deadlines.
- Maintaining the integrity of Fee Earner datasets and other key data sources on finance systems.
- Providing analytical support to Commercial Accountants and business stakeholders, including ad-hoc requests for data or analysis as needed.
- Investigating and resolving queries in a timely manner, escalating risks, data issues or delays at the earliest opportunity.
- Contributing to annual budget and planning processes, including inputting data and supporting analysis.
- Identifying practical opportunities to improve reporting processes, while ensuring stakeholder requirements, controls, testing and output quality are maintained.
- Supporting the Commercial Accountants across a range of commercial projects as required.
