Full description

Avenga is an international engineering firm helping businesses operate with AI at the core. With 6,000+ experts worldwide, we combine engineering expertise with AI-native thinking to turn ambitious ideas into real-world impact across industries, technologies, and markets.

At the core of the role

We’re looking for an experienced Senior QA Automation to build automated integration testing for a new Apache Camel platform and support the TIBCO-to-Camel migration. The focus is on creating reusable tools and procedures for long-term integration and regression testing, not just a one-time migration solution. The role involves technical integration testing, test automation, and close collaboration with developers, architects, and testers to analyze message-based flows and identify issues across systems.

Core skills you’ll bring

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in backend/integration testing or system integration.
  • Strong knowledge of API and integration testing, including REST, SOAP, synchronous/asynchronous communication, error handling, retries, timeouts and complex integration flows.
  • Hands-on experience with Java test automation, preferably using RestAssured, Serenity BDD or similar frameworks.
  • Good understanding of JSON, XML, schemas and API contracts.
  • Knowledge of SQL and ability to independently validate data at database level.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD, Jenkins and logging/monitoring tools such as Kibana or Elasticsearch.
  • Familiarity with Swagger/OpenAPI, JIRA, TestRail or equivalent tools.
  • Ability to independently analyze integration services, design test coverage and troubleshoot issues across distributed systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with developers, architects, analysts and testers.
  • Slovak/Czech - native speaker, English proficiency at B1 level or higher.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with Apache Camel, TIBCO BusinessWorks, TIBCO EMS or other ESB/integration platforms.
  • Knowledge of Kafka, JMS, Enterprise Integration Patterns and message-driven architectures.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and service virtualization (mocks, stubs, proxies).
  • Performance and load testing experience using JMeter, LoadRunner or similar tools.
  • Experience in the Telecommunications industry, particularly BSS/OSS and integration processes.
  • Experience with enterprise integration platform migration or modernization.
  • Knowledge of BPMN and Camunda.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development and test automation tools.

The impact you'll create

  • Design and execute integration tests covering APIs, message contracts, transformations, routing, error handling and end-to-end flows.
  • Develop reusable Java test automation components for multiple integration services.
  • Build automated tests for TIBCO-to-Apache Camel migration releases and establish a sustainable regression test suite.
  • Implement comparative testing to verify behavioral consistency between legacy TIBCO and new Camel implementations.
  • Automate synchronous and asynchronous integration scenarios involving Kafka and JMS.
  • Analyze logs and trace transactions using Kibana/Elasticsearch and correlation IDs.
  • Validate data consistency using SQL (Oracle/PostgreSQL).
  • Create mocks, stubs and test data to simulate upstream/downstream systems.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Define testing standards and best practices for Camel integration services.
  • Collaborate with developers to identify test scenarios and improve service testability.
  • Analyze test failures, identify root causes and distinguish between automation, environment, data and implementation issues.
  • Document solutions and ensure knowledge transfer and long-term maintainability.

 What supports your journey

  • Pleasant working environment and stable background in one of the largest software development companies in the world
