Developer Master, AI Engineer (backend Java + Mobile Android+iOS)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Developer Master, AI Engineer (backend Java + Mobile Android+iOS) based in Brazil.

This is a senior technical leadership opportunity focused on redesigning and modernizing a large-scale SuperApp across Android, iOS, and Java backend platforms. You will lead a multidisciplinary engineering team while introducing AI-driven and agentic development practices into the software lifecycle. The role combines hands-on architecture and development with technical leadership, solution definition, and stakeholder management. You will design scalable applications powered by Large Language Models and help create AI agents that accelerate engineering workflows. The position requires strong expertise in backend Java, cloud technologies, and modern AI development methodologies. You will work closely with business and engineering stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions and successful production rollouts. This is an impactful environment for an experienced engineer who wants to shape both product modernization and the future of AI-native software development.

Accountabilities:

• Provide technical leadership to a multidisciplinary team of Android, iOS, and Java backend developers throughout the SuperApp redesign.

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable applications and solutions leveraging Large Language Models and AI-driven technologies.

• Lead the adoption of agentic AI development practices, creating and integrating AI agents that optimize software development workflows.

• Define technical specifications and contribute to solution architecture and engineering decisions in collaboration with business and technology stakeholders.

• Apply Spec-Driven Development (SDD) principles to improve the quality, consistency, and efficiency of development activities.

• Use tools and approaches such as Claude Code, Skills, and MCPs to enhance AI-assisted software engineering.

• Participate in solution-definition meetings between business and engineering teams, translating business needs into clear technical directions.

• Monitor technical and business metrics and indicators to assess delivery performance and solution impact.

• Manage technical dependencies, conflicts, priorities, and stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle.

• Ensure successful implementation, production deployment, and rollout of project demands according to established client processes.

• Promote engineering best practices, accessibility standards, scalability, and continuous improvement across the solution.

Requirements:

• Solid professional experience in software engineering, with strong expertise in backend development using Java.

• Proven experience leading technical teams or multidisciplinary engineering teams.

• Strong knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, particularly AI agents and agentic approaches applied to software development.

• Hands-on understanding of Spec-Driven Development (SDD).

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and concepts, including Claude Code, Skills, and MCPs.

• Knowledge of Large Language Models and their application in scalable software solutions.

• Familiarity with AWS Cloud and cloud-based application architectures.

• Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.

• Familiarity with mobile development environments is desirable, particularly Android and iOS.

• Knowledge of Kotlin for Android and Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI for iOS is a plus.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align business and engineering teams.

• Ability to manage dependencies, conflicts, expectations, and delivery priorities in complex environments.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, combined with a strategic and hands-on mindset.

• Availability to work on-site with the client in São Paulo several days per week.
