Viking Reinforcing is looking for an experienced and motivated Project Manager to join our team. This position is responsible for managing reinforcing steel projects from Preconstruction handoff through completion, coordinating with customers, field crews, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
We are looking for someone who is organized, dependable, comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment, and able to manage multiple active projects at once.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage reinforcing steel projects from award through completion.
- Review project drawings, specifications, schedules, contracts, and scope requirements.
- Maintain regular communication with general contractors, site superintendents, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
- Coordinate with Vikings fabrication yard, logistics team, detailers, and field crews to keep projects moving efficiently.
- Monitor project schedules and identify potential delays, conflicts, or material requirements before they impact work.
- Review and manage change orders, extra work, site instructions, and scope changes.
- Ensure extra work is properly documented and submitted for approval.
- Attend project meetings as required.
- Assist with resolving drawing, scheduling, fabrication, delivery, and installation issues.
- Ensure required project documentation is maintained and submitted.
- Support project billing by confirming progress, completed work, and approved extras.
- Maintain positive working relationships with customers while protecting Viking Reinforcing's contractual and financial interests.
- Work with management to identify project risks and implement corrective actions when required.
- Ensure Viking Reinforcing's safety, quality, and environmental requirements are incorporated into project planning and execution.
- Perform other project-related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Previous project management experience in the concrete reinforcing industry preferred.
- Experience in reinforcing steel, concrete construction, or a related trade is a strong asset.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, schedules and contracts.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and site coordination.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable communicating with general contractors, superintendents, tradespeople, and internal staff.
- Strong problem-solving and decision making abilities.
- Comfortable using computers, email, spreadsheets, and construction management software.
- Valid drivers license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
