YOUR IMPACT
Are you passionate about Compensation Accounting and Individual Tax Reporting? We are seeking a qualified and experienced individual to join the Asia Pacific Compensation Accounting team based in Hong Kong.
HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL
Compensation Accounting (CA) is responsible for the payment, accounting and reporting of all salary, bonus, and other forms of remuneration paid to employees of the firm. The Asia Pacific Compensation Accounting team is a regional team with professionals based in Hong Kong, Bengaluru, and Melbourne, working together to support payroll, accounting, tax reporting, and control activities across multiple jurisdictions in Asia Pacific. This role will be based in Hong Kong and offers extensive exposure to regional stakeholders, global teams, and cross-functional projects.
You will work closely with external payroll vendors in a number of locations, as well as, internally, with regional CA teams in Hong Kong, Australia, India, Europe and the US. As part of the daily function, you will also have to work with colleagues in other areas of the firm such as Human Capital Management, Tax, Treasury, Legal and Financial Reporting. In addition, the team works on many local and global projects which have impact on our work process and you will have the chance to experience these.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordination and processing of compensation information.
- Reporting and accounting, both internally as well as to external authorities.
- Commitment to control, ensuring data has gone through proper internal controls.
- Review, reconcile and substantiate general ledger account balances.
- Assisting in formulating payroll processes to facilitate new operations for the firm, involving new pay entity set-up, implementing tax effectiveness programs or new benefit programs.
- Working closely with global CA counterparts in the administration of compensation reporting.
- Documentation of processes.
- Participation in global projects.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in business, accounting or finance.
- Minimum two to three years of relevant work experience including human capital at Big 4 accounting firms.
- Experience in handling general ledger posting and accounts reconciliation.
- Knowledge of individual income tax and benefit programs would be an advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Excel.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Fluency in Mandarin preferred.
- Details oriented and strong control sense.
- Effective communication and time management skills.
