About EiQ

EiQ is LRQA’s flagship supply chain intelligence platform and is entering a major growth phase as it evolves into a scalable, AI-enabled data product. With ambitious growth targets and increasing adoption by global clients, EiQ is a core strategic asset within LRQA’s digital portfolio, powering client insight, transparency, and risk-based decision-making across complex supply chains.

Role Purpose:

We are looking for a Junior Data Scientist with strong foundations in machine learning, generative AI, and data engineering. This is not a traditional front-end analytics role focused mainly on dashboards or pre-existing structured tables. You will work across the full data lifecycle, from raw and often unstructured sources to trusted, reusable “golden” datasets, intelligent models, and production-ready data products.

You will thrive in this role if you are curious about data, believe in data-driven decision-making, respect the power and limitations of data, and enjoy finding valuable signals hidden in complex information. You will investigate sources, challenge assumptions, understand limitations, and build the path from raw data to trustworthy insights and intelligent action.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ESG insights: Analyze structured and unstructured data to generate actionable insights on ESG and supply-chain risks across industries, markets, and geographies.
  • Data and AI solutions: Design, build, deploy, and monitor scalable data pipelines and machine learning solutions for ESG and supply-chain applications.
  • Data quality and governance: Prepare and integrate internal and external data, ensuring quality, reliability, security, privacy, and responsible AI practices.
  • Cloud delivery: Develop scalable, cloud-based data and AI solutions, preferably using Microsoft Azure, with AWS or Google Cloud experience also valued.
  • Product development: Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of data, analytics, and AI products and services.
  • Business impact: Translate business and ESG challenges into clear analytical approaches, practical solutions, and measurable outcomes.
  • Collaboration and communication: Work with consulting, assessment, product, and technology teams to deliver end-to-end solutions and communicate findings clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Engineering, or a closely related quantitative discipline.
  • At least one year of relevant professional experience in data science, machine learning, or a related field.
  • Strong Python and SQL skills, including experience writing maintainable, testable, and reusable code.
  • Hands-on experience building data pipelines and working with data from ingestion and transformation through to curated data models or golden datasets.
  • Solid understanding of machine learning methods and core statistical concepts, including model evaluation, sampling, experimentation, uncertainty, and causality.
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured data, with practical knowledge of data preparation, feature engineering, and model development.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform: Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Azure experience is preferred.
  • Practical understanding of generative AI and large language model solution patterns, including prompting, embeddings, vector search, RAG, evaluation, guardrails, and responsible AI.
  • Professional written and spoken English is required; Mandarin language capability is a plus.
  • Critical thinking, attention to detail, a proactive and collaborative mindset, and the ability to deliver in a time-sensitive environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud data and AI services, data lakes or lakehouses, orchestration tools, distributed processing, APIs, containers, CI/CD, MLOps, or LLMOps.
  • Experience with data modeling, metadata, lineage, data governance, observability, and automated data-quality testing.
  • Experience developing production-grade document processing, NLP, or multimodal solutions.
  • Knowledge of supply chains, sustainability, ESG, social compliance, risk management, or assurance services.
  • Experience working directly with clients or cross-functional business stakeholders.
