Full description

We are seeking a commercially minded and technically competent Construction Project Manager to join our team in Portugal and take full ownership of assigned projects from a client-side perspective.

This role is specifically focused on technical project management, rigorous financial control, and procurement support.

  • Managing individual construction projects from planning through completion.
  • Preparing, reviewing and controlling project budgets and cost plans.
  • Preparing and reviewing BOQs and quantity take-offs.
  • Monitoring actual project costs against budgets and identifying variances early.
  • Preparing subcontractor packages and managing the tendering process.
  • Reviewing and comparing subcontractor quotations, both technically and commercially.
  • Negotiating subcontractor pricing and recommending appointments.
  • Working closely with procurement, providing technical knowledge when sourcing and purchasing construction materials.
  • Reviewing supplier quotations and helping procurement identify the best technical and commercial options.
  • Managing project schedules, costs, variations and documentation.
  • Coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, architects and clients as required.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
  • Providing regular reporting to management on project progress, budget, risks and forecast costs.

Requirements

  • Strong construction background combined with solid commercial and financial acumen.
  • Hands-on experience in budget management, auditing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost control, and subcontractor tendering.
  • Active technical support in procurement and contract negotiation.
  • Demonstrated track record of managing projects of similar scale, taking full ownership of project delivery, deadlines, and financial performance.
  • ​Profile Distinction: We are specifically looking for candidates with strong commercial, financial, and technical project control expertise, rather than operational/site-only supervisors or corporate Operations Directors.
