Join Our Leadership Team as an Engineering Assistant Manager in Energy Systems Product Health!
The Role: We are seeking an Engineering Assistant Manager – Energy Systems Product Health to lead the technical health of energy systems products following launch. Serving as the technical leader and primary point of contact for the Energy Systems Product Health team, you will guide cross-functional teams through the triage, investigation, and resolution of complex product issues. This role combines energy systems expertise, technical planning, and cross-functional leadership to improve product reliability and drive lasting corrective actions.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead the Energy Systems Product Health team in resolving technical issues across electrical, mechanical, software, controls, and systems integration disciplines.
- Own product issue triage, including scope, priority, team assignment, resource needs, and escalation based on customer impact, business priorities, and technical risk.
- Facilitate Product Health reviews and communicate technical status, risks, priorities, and resolution plans to key stakeholders.
- Drive root cause analysis, containment, corrective action, validation, and engineering changes through successful resolution.
- Analyze telematics, diagnostic logs, field performance, manufacturing, testing, and warranty data to identify emerging trends and prioritize engineering efforts.
- Strengthen Product Health processes, workflows, governance, and issue management using tools such as JIRA, Smartsheet, and Microsoft Excel.
- Mentor engineers through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and constructive feedback.
- Participate in design reviews and launch-readiness activities to support the transition from product development to Product Health approximately six months after launch.
- Apply lessons learned from field and product issues to improve future product development.
- Travel up to 25%.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of professional individual contributor engineering experience in product development, sustaining engineering, reliability, or product health.
- 1+ year of engineering leadership experience.
- Hands-on background with lithium-ion batteries, fuel cells, chargers, power electronics, or energy storage systems.
- Strong systems-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Proven success prioritizing multiple complex technical issues and coordinating cross-functional engineering teams through resolution.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, including influencing and aligning stakeholders without direct authority.
- Track record of mentoring engineers and supporting technical development within collaborative teams.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
What Sets You Apart:
- Master's degree in Engineering, MBA, and/or PMP certification.
- Success building, mentoring, and developing high-performing engineering teams.
- Background in industrial trucks, mobile equipment, automotive, agricultural, construction, or other complex electromechanical systems.
- Understanding of CAN/CANopen, controls, software integration, and vehicle systems.
- Work involving suppliers, manufacturing, service teams, and customers.

- This position is based on-site at our Rochester, New York location, where you’ll collaborate closely with your team in a dynamic workplace.
Compensation & Benefits Package:
Salary: $118,590 - $152,040 per year. Compensation is based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.
