About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join a data platform initiative focused on building, optimizing, and supporting modern, scalable data solutions in a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment.
The successful candidate will take ownership of end-to-end data engineering activities, contribute to cloud-native platform development, and help establish best practices around data products, automation, governance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities: Responsibilities
- Take end-to-end responsibility for designing, developing, optimizing, and supporting data pipelines within a modern GCP-based data platform.
- Build scalable and reliable data products aligned with defined architectural principles and business requirements.
- Ensure data products are designed as independent deployment units following standards for:
- Security
- Scalability
- Observability
- Performance
- Maintainability
- Apply a strong DevOps mindset by managing and improving:
- CI/CD pipelines
- Infrastructure automation
- Cloud environments
- Deployment processes using Terraform
- Design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions primarily on Google Cloud Platform.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, technical teams, and business stakeholders to define data product capabilities and identify new opportunities.
- Support data sharing and integration across multiple domains within a data mesh-oriented environment.
- Continuously improve data engineering practices, development processes, and platform capabilities.
- Identify and reduce technical debt while maintaining high engineering standards.
- Keep up to date with emerging technologies and best practices within data engineering, analytics, and cloud platforms.
Requirements:
- Senior-level experience working as a Data Engineer in complex data environments.
- Strong hands-on experience building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines.
- Solid experience with:
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Terraform
- Cloud Infrastructure
- CI/CD practices and tooling
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures and modern software engineering practices.
- Experience designing solutions with focus on reliability, scalability, security, and operational excellence.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical and business stakeholders.
- Excellent English communication skills (advanced level).
