With over 2,000 employees across 11 locations around the world, we invest in more than 40 countries globally across asset classes and businesses. Working at GIC gives you exposure to an extraordinary network of the world’s industry leaders. As a leading global long-term investor, we Work at the Point of Impact for Singapore’s financial future, and the communities we invest in worldwide.
Technology Group We experiment, design, and lead a 24×7 global business where we support core capabilities in asset management, trading, investment operations, and risk management. We deliver secure, reliable, and integrated solutions, and provide insights on new, and emerging technologies.
What impact can you make in this role?
We partner with GIC's Public Equities business to deliver the technology behind its investment process, covering research, portfolio construction, trading, risk and performance analysis. We work closely with portfolio managers, analysts, traders and engineers. We value deep business understanding, close partnership with our stakeholders, and technology that scales with the needs of a global investment business.
In this role, you will be the bridge between Public Equities and technology. You will build a deep understanding of how the business invests and turn its needs into a clear, prioritised technology roadmap. You will also make sure that roadmap aligns with GIC's enterprise technology strategy. Your work will directly shape how well technology supports investment decisions across Public Equities.
What will you do as a Business Analyst?
- Building a deep understanding of Public Equities' investment strategies, processes and operating model, and finding where technology can create the most value.
- Partnering with portfolio managers, analysts, traders and business management to gather, challenge and prioritise requirements.
- Shaping and owning the technology roadmap for Public Equities, balancing near-term business needs with longer-term platform investments.
- Making sure business roadmaps and solutions align with GIC's enterprise technology strategy, architecture standards and shared platforms.
- Translating business, data and risk needs into clear specifications, user stories and acceptance criteria for engineering.
- Working with architecture, data and other technology teams to manage dependencies and reuse shared capabilities.
- Explaining priorities, trade-offs and progress clearly to stakeholders at all levels, from investment professionals to senior leadership.
- Driving delivery from discovery to adoption, including testing, rollout and measuring business outcomes.
What makes you a successful candidate?
- Domain expertise - You have substantial experience in public equities, either in investing or in investment technology at a buy-side firm or asset manager. You understand the full investment lifecycle and can talk credibly with investment professionals about how they work.
- Technical credibility - You engage engineers and architects as a peer on system design, data, integration and security. You weigh technical trade-offs and explain them in business terms.
- Strategic alignment - You can connect a business's goals to an enterprise technology strategy. You know when to build something custom and when to use shared platforms, and you can make the case either way.
- Strong communication - You build trusted relationships across business and technology. You simplify complex topics, lead difficult prioritisation discussions and adjust your message for each audience.
- Effective delivery - You deliver results in complex organisations. You align stakeholders, manage dependencies and keep momentum from discovery to delivery.
Good to have
- Agentic fluency. You have practical experience with agentic workflows and AI tools. You stay curious about how agents will change investment processes and how technology is built.
- Experience with investment platforms such as order or execution management systems (OMS/EMS), portfolio management, risk or market data systems.
- Experience in product ownership or agile delivery.
- A strong academic background in finance or a quantitative or technical field. Professional qualifications such as the CFA are a plus.
