This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Software QA Automation Engineer based in India.
This role offers the opportunity to drive software quality across high-volume, scalable enterprise applications in a modern Agile environment.You will design, develop, and execute automated testing solutions using Playwright and TypeScript, while contributing to functional and performance testing.Working closely with Scrum teams, you will help validate user stories, acceptance criteria, and end-to-end product behavior.The position combines hands-on automation engineering with test strategy, defect analysis, reporting, and continuous quality improvement.You will become a subject-matter expert in your assigned product domain and advocate for customer needs through rigorous testing.The role involves collaboration with manual testers and distributed, multicultural teams to build reliable and high-quality software.It is an excellent opportunity for an experienced QA professional who is passionate about automation, technical problem-solving, and delivering exceptional user experiences.

Accountabilities:
- Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Playwright with TypeScript, as well as other relevant automation technologies.
- Assist in designing comprehensive test plans and writing and executing test cases for functional and performance testing.
- Participate actively in Scrum activities, including sprint planning, estimation, user-story review, acceptance-criteria verification, and quality validation.
- Transform manual test cases into robust, maintainable automated test scenarios and integrate them into broader testing strategies.
- Develop and execute integrated automated test cases in collaboration with manual testers and existing manual test suites.
- Support API testing by contributing to the development and maintenance of API test frameworks.
- Perform defect identification, analysis, tracking, and reporting using tools such as Jira and Zephyr.
- Communicate testing progress, quality metrics, risks, issues, and results clearly to relevant stakeholders.
- Produce accurate, well-structured test documentation and test summary reports.
- Build deep expertise in the assigned product domain and develop a strong understanding of product functionality, strengths, limitations, and customer expectations.
- Advocate for customer-impacting quality issues and contribute to improvements in product usability and overall user experience.
- Apply established quality assurance methodologies, lifecycle practices, and organizational standards consistently.
- Troubleshoot complex testing and technical issues and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and automation practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a scientific discipline, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance and testing, particularly for high-volume, scalable enterprise applications.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with a test automation tool, such as Playwright, Selenium, or TestComplete.
- Strong practical experience with Playwright and Selenium for UI automation, with Playwright and TypeScript being particularly relevant.
- Professional development experience with TypeScript, Java, or .NET.
- Strong understanding of the complete QA lifecycle, testing methodologies, and software quality best practices.
- Proven experience converting manual test cases into effective automated test scenarios.
- Experience with test case management, defect tracking, documentation, analysis, and reporting tools such as Jira and Zephyr.
- Experience developing or contributing to automated API test frameworks.
- Working knowledge of databases and modern data platforms.
- Strong understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments and distributed, multi-site teams.
- Experience testing large-scale systems is an advantage.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail and a strong focus on UI quality and user experience.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Passion for software quality and confidence to raise quality concerns constructively and professionally.
- Self-motivated, independent, adaptable, and able to learn new technologies quickly.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multicultural and geographically distributed teams.
