Job Description
Software Mind is seeking a detail-oriented QA Automation Engineer to join a growing QA team at one of our clients. In this role, you will work closely with developers, product managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the quality and reliability of software products — identifying issues, testing new features, and maintaining high standards across the platform.

About the Role
Our client is a fast-growing fintech platform. You will join as the third member of a two-person QA team, contributing to the full software development life cycle. The role requires working in the CT (Central Time) time zone.
Main Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web applications.
- Identify, document, and track bugs, ensuring they are resolved effectively.
- Perform manual and automated testing to ensure optimal performance and user experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and implement testing strategies.
- Write and maintain end-to-end automated tests using Playwright or similar frameworks.
- Use AI tools responsibly as an assistant — not a replacement — for human-authored and human-understood code.
- Continuously improve QA processes, frameworks, and best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging QA tools and industry trends.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- +90% English written and oral (B2 level minimum) — strong communication is essential.
- 2+ years of QA experience, including hands-on work with E2E automation frameworks (Playwright preferred; Cypress, Maestro, Appium, or Selenium also considered).
- Ability to write and maintain automated tests with clean, readable structure.
- Some coding experience in JavaScript, Ruby, Python, or similar — comfortable writing functions and structuring projects.
- Experience working with GitHub or similar version control tools.
- Strong communication skills: ability to write clear bug reports, reproduction steps, test cases, and root cause analysis.
- Experience working on projects throughout the full software development life cycle.
- Experience using JIRA or other bug tracking / project management tools.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Postman or API testing.
- Familiarity with fintech or regulated software environments.
- Experience working in small, agile QA teams.
