Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Policy Analyst to support a large-scale Department of Defense cybersecurity environment. This position is responsible for reviewing, developing, consolidating, and maintaining cybersecurity policies, standards, procedures, and guidance to ensure alignment with DoD cybersecurity requirements and mission objectives.

The Cybersecurity Policy Analyst will work closely with cybersecurity, technical, and government stakeholders to evaluate existing policies, identify gaps, and recommend updates that balance security requirements with operational needs. The role will also provide policy guidance to programs and brief senior leadership on cybersecurity policy changes, requirements, and implementation progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze, consolidate, and develop cybersecurity policies, procedures, standards, and guidance.
  • Ensure cybersecurity policies align with applicable DoD requirements, directives, regulations, and cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Assess IT and cybersecurity policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures for compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Identify policy gaps and recommend updates or improvements to strengthen cybersecurity operations.
  • Provide technical support and policy guidance to cybersecurity programs and technical teams.
  • Research and interpret new or changing cybersecurity requirements and determine their impact on existing policies and operations.
  • Coordinate with technical teams and stakeholders to support implementation of cybersecurity policies and procedures.
  • Develop policy documentation, briefings, reports, and other cybersecurity governance materials.
  • Brief senior management on cybersecurity policy changes, updates, implementation status, and areas requiring attention.
  • Support cybersecurity compliance, risk management, incident response, and defensive cyber operations through effective policy development and governance.

Minimum Requirements

  • Seven (7) years of relevant cybersecurity policy experience
  • Experienced in the general tenets supporting the overall DOD implementation of its cybersecurity policies, procedures, and process.
  • DOD TOP SECRET Clearance and be eligible for an IT-I Critical Sensitive security clearance or Tier 5 (T5).
  • Any CSSP Analyst certification: (i.e. CEH, CFR, CCNA Cyber Ops, CCNA Security, CySA+, GCIA, GCIH, GISCSP, Cloud+, SCYBER, PenTest+)
