Misión

We are looking for an experienced Power Systems Engineer with strong hands-on ETAP expertise to join our growing engineering team. 

The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of both ETAP modelling and the engineering principles behind power system analysis, with the ability to independently interpret study results and provide sound technical recommendations to the design team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and validating ETAP models, as well as carrying out detailed power system studies for large-scale data centre and mission-critical projects.

This is a specialist technical position that requires a high level of analytical capability, technical judgment, and practical power systems engineering experience. What will be your responsibilities?

  • Develop and maintain detailed ETAP power system models for HV, MV and LV electrical networks.
  • Perform Load Flow Analysis under normal, maintenance and contingency operating conditions.
  • Perform Short Circuit / Fault Level Studies and verify equipment ratings.
  • Perform Protection Coordination & Selectivity Studies using ETAP STAR, including TCC development and protection-setting recommendations.
  • Perform Arc Flash Studies and identify appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Perform Harmonic Analysis, including THDi and THDv assessment.
  • Perform Motor Starting / Motor Acceleration Studies.
  • Assess transformer sizing, loading, impedance, tap settings and voltage regulation.
  • Perform cable sizing and electrical performance verification.
  • Analyse different data-centre operating scenarios including utility failure, generator operation, UPS operation/bypass, transformer failure and other contingency conditions.
  • Review ETAP results and identify issues relating to fault levels, voltage drop, equipment overstressing, protection coordination and system performance.
  • Prepare comprehensive Power System Study Reports with assumptions, methodology, results and engineering recommendations.
  • Coordinate with design engineers, equipment vendors, contractors and commissioning teams to obtain and validate modelling information.

The ETAP capabilities we are targeting align closely with the Power Simulator Scale functions in the attached ETAP package, including Load Flow, Short Circuit, Transformer Sizing/Tap Optimisation, Cable Sizing, STAR Protection Coordination, Motor Acceleration and Harmonics. This is the profile we are looking for

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering / Power Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
  • Strong and demonstrable hands-on ETAP experience is mandatory.
  • Good knowledge of HV, MV and LV electrical distribution systems.
  • Strong understanding of short circuit calculations, load flow, protection coordination and electrical system behaviour.
  • Experience with transformers, generators, UPS systems, switchgear, busways and critical electrical distribution.
  • Familiarity with applicable IEC / IEEE standards.
  • Ability to independently develop ETAP models and troubleshoot modelling issues.
  • Ability to interpret study results and translate findings into practical design recommendations.
  • Good technical report-writing and communication skills.

Preferred Experience• Experience in data centres or other mission-critical facilities will be highly advantageous.

  • Specialised analysis capabilities that include further studies such as unbalanced networks and transformer inrush as ETAP also identifies Arc Flash and Ground Grid.

Who We Are Looking For• We are not looking for someone who only knows how to operate ETAP software.

  • We are looking for a Power Systems Engineer who can understand the electrical network, establish the correct study assumptions, challenge incorrect input data, analyse abnormal results and provide technically sound recommendations.
  • ETAP modelling and power system study experience is a key requirement for this position.
