Full description

Established in 1997, Softeq was built from the ground up to specialize in new product development and R&D, tackling the most difficult problems in the tech sphere. Now we've expanded to offer early-stage innovation and ideation plus digital transformation business consulting. Our superpower is to deliver all of this under one roof on a global scale. So let's get started and build a better future together!

We're looking for a Automation QA Engineer to join our team and contribute to its continued growth.

We are building a new customer portal for a large logistics company. Business users at the company's customers will use it to track shipments, see delays and ETAs, manage invoices and documents, get alerts and reports, and ask an AI assistant about their own data.

The portal runs on Azure: React/TypeScript front end (installable PWA), Python/FastAPI services, and an Azure Databricks lakehouse that feeds the application with certified data. Customers from many companies use the same application, so strict data isolation between them is a core requirement.

You will build an automation-first test system for the application and its data, and own quality evidence for each release.

What you will do

  • Define the test strategy and test plan for each release together with the team and the client.
  • Build and maintain UI end-to-end automation with Playwright, and API and contract tests with pytest against an OpenAPI 3.1 contract.
  • Write cross-tenant negative tests: prove that a user of one customer company can never see or change another company's data, through the UI, the API or exports.
  • Test role-based access and entitlements: admins, internal staff, customer users, delegated access.
  • Run performance and load tests (Azure Load Testing or k6) against agreed targets.
  • Run security tests in the pipeline (DAST with OWASP ZAP) and support remediation and retest after penetration tests.
  • Test accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA) with automated checks (axe) and manual review; test the PWA across the agreed browser and device matrix, including web push on iOS.
  • Test data: reconcile application data against source systems, verify data quality rules, run KPI regression against certified baselines, and prepare evidence packs for data sign-off.
  • Help test AI features: evaluation sets for the assistant, checks that answers stay within the user's data.
  • Integrate all tests into CI/CD (GitHub Actions), keep them fast and stable, and report quality at release gates.
  • Manage defects and give clear, reproducible bug reports.

What we expect

  • 4+ years of test automation for web applications and APIs, with code in TypeScript or Python that you maintain like production code.
  • Strong Playwright (or Cypress / Selenium with a clear reason to move to Playwright): page objects or fixtures, test data management, parallel runs, flaky-test control.
  • API testing with pytest or similar: authentication flows (OAuth2 / OIDC, JWT), contract testing against OpenAPI, negative and boundary cases.
  • Experience testing role-based access and multi-tenant isolation.
  • Good SQL: you can write reconciliation queries between a source and a target and explain each variance.
  • CI integration of tests (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or similar): test reports, quality gates, running tests per pull request.
  • Clear written and spoken English; you can explain a defect and its business impact to developers and to the client.

Nice to have

  • Data testing frameworks: Great Expectations, chispa, dbt tests; Databricks or another lakehouse.
  • Performance testing with k6, JMeter or Azure Load Testing.
  • Security testing: OWASP ZAP, OWASP Top 10 and API Top 10.
  • Accessibility testing (axe, screen readers) and PWA / mobile browser testing.
  • Testing LLM features: evaluation sets, groundedness checks, prompt-injection test cases.
  • ISTQB or similar certification.
  • Logistics, transportation or supply-chain domain.

Our tech stack

Playwright · pytest · k6 / Azure Load Testing · OWASP ZAP · axe · GitHub Actions · React / TypeScript · Python / FastAPI · Azure Databricks · PostgreSQL · Azure
