Between us, we offer SaaS solutions to customers of varying sizes and stages, serving different customer profiles within the beauty industry.
We’re part of the wider EverCommerce ecosystem and exist to simplify and empower the lives of business owners. We’ve got big goals and we’re ready to achieve them.
This is where you come in!
We're looking for a Platform Engineering Manager to lead our Platform Development and Database Reliability Engineering (DRE) teams, helping shape the technology that supports Timely, SalonBiz and our growing global customer base.
You'll work closely with our Engineering leaders to influence technical direction, improve how we build and deliver software, and ensure our platforms continue to scale.
This is as much about people as it is technology. We're looking for someone who loves developing engineers, making smart technical decisions and creating an environment where teams can do their best work.
What you'll be doing
- Lead our Platform Development and Database Reliability Engineering (DRE) teams, supporting your people to do great work, grow their skills and take ownership of what they deliver.
- Work closely with the Head of Platform Engineering and other Engineering Managers to shape our technical roadmap and make sure we're focusing on the right priorities.
- Help guide architecture and technical decisions, making sure we're building secure, reliable systems that can grow alongside our customers.
- Make life easier for our Product and Engineering teams by improving the tools, processes and platforms they rely on every day.
- Oversee our database engineering capability, ensuring our databases remain reliable, perform well and scale as the business grows.
- Keep us ahead of potential issues through better monitoring, capacity planning, disaster recovery and ongoing improvements to platform performance.
- Support your teams with quarterly planning, clear goals and practical ways of working, using Kanban and Jira to keep work moving.
- Build strong relationships across Product, Engineering and the wider business, understanding what other teams need and helping them get there.
- Encourage your teams to challenge how we do things, explore new technologies and find practical ways to use automation and AI to work smarter.
- Most importantly, be a great people leader. Give regular feedback, have meaningful development conversations and create an environment where your team feels supported, challenged and proud of the work they do.
What you'll bring
- Proven experience leading and developing software engineering, platform engineering or infrastructure teams within a SaaS or technology environment.
- Strong people leadership skills, with a genuine passion for coaching, mentoring and helping engineers grow.
- A solid technical background with an understanding of software architecture, platform engineering, cloud infrastructure and database technologies.
- Experience contributing to technical strategy, architectural decisions and long-term platform engineering roadmaps.
- A strong understanding of modern engineering practices, including DevOps, automation, observability, security and reliability.
- Experience working with Agile delivery practices, particularly Kanban, and using tools such as Jira to manage priorities and delivery.
- The ability to balance technical improvement with business priorities, making thoughtful and timely decisions.
- Confidence working across multiple engineering teams and building strong relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to identifying risks, improving systems and driving continuous improvement.
- Curiosity about emerging technologies, including how AI can be used responsibly to improve engineering outcomes.
Research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet ~60% of criteria, women and those in underrepresented groups tend to only apply when they check every box. So if you think you have what it takes but don't meet every single bullet point above, please still get in touch. We'd love to have a chat and see if you could be a great fit.
