Software Consultant - Data Engineer
About the Role
We are looking for a Software Consultant - Data Engineer to contribute to the development and delivery of scalable, secure, and reliable data engineering and software solutions for our product platform.

- Apply AI across the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), utilizing it for design assistance, coding, test generation, security checks, documentation, incident summarization, and runbook automation.
- Guardrails & Governance: You will maintain non-negotiable guardrails for code reviews, security and privacy controls, and governance, while measuring impact through SLOs, DORA metrics, and cost/performance outcomes.
- Knowledge Sharing: You will actively share knowledge and standardize prompts, playbooks, and reusable automation to multiply overall team effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Data Pipeline Engineering: Design, develop, and operate ETL/ELT pipelines using Python (Pandas) to meet strict SLOs for freshness, latency, and completeness.
- Data Modeling & SQL Optimization: Write performant SQL for PostgreSQL and Trino, while implementing and maintaining dimensional models and curated datasets.
- Cloud Architecture & Optimization: Architect and manage AWS data solutions (S3, Glue, Athena), optimizing for scalability, resiliency, performance, and cost.
- Infrastructure as Code & CI/CD: Build infrastructure as code with Terraform and implement automated CI/CD pipelines on AWS for testing, security scans, and deployment.
- Security & Vulnerability Management: Embed a security-first mindset in the SDLC using least-privilege IAM, secure coding, secrets management, and encryption.
- Collaboration & Analytics Support: Collaborate with cross-functional product, analytics, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into maintainable components and self-service Superset dashboards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Core Experience: 5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience building and operating production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Language Proficiency: Strong programming proficiency in Python, with deep, proven experience using the Pandas library for data manipulation.
- Advanced Database Skills: Advanced SQL development capabilities utilizing PostgreSQL and Trino, alongside practical experience in dimensional modeling.
- AWS Data Services: Proven experience implementing cloud data infrastructure using core AWS services, specifically S3, Glue, and Athena.
- Infrastructure Tools: Hands-on experience writing, versioning, and managing cloud infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Agile Delivery: Track record of working effectively within Agile teams to consistently ship high-quality deliverables every sprint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced AWS Ecosystem Knowledge: Extended exposure to broader AWS services including Lambda, Secrets Manager, RDS, DynamoDB, Lake Formation, DMS, and API Gateway.
- AI-Assisted Development: Experience leveraging AI-powered tools in coding, testing, deployment, and monitoring to maximize development efficiency and delivery speed.
- Modern Visualization Tools: Familiarity with creating and maintaining visualizations and dashboards in Superset or similar business intelligence tools.
- DevSecOps Integration: Experience integrating automated security checks and vulnerability remediation directly into active CI/CD pipelines.
- Business Acumen: Demonstrated strength in bridging the gap between complex business requirements and scalable, well-designed technical components.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to manage stakeholders and align with cross-functional teams.
Work Location: Hyderabad
Work Mode: Hybrid (1 day WFH, 4 days WFO)
