Job Description:
What will you work on? The Senior Financial Analyst - Operations Finance Europe will serve as the finance business partner providing support to Group HQ finance and Supply Chain Distribution team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Operations Finance Europe, the person in this role will be instrumental in cost of goods sold (COGS) & supply chain analysis and reporting, Warehousing & Distribution analysis and reporting, periodic financial reporting tasks, budgeting and forecasting support, internal controls, and leading assigned Operations Finance team initiatives and projects. This is a dynamic hands-on role requiring successful candidates to demonstrate leadership, critical thinking, deal with ambiguity, and the ability to succeed in fast-paced environments.
How will you create impact?
- Assisting in monthly and quarterly reporting.
- Supporting the product costing process, distribution & transportation spend analysis, inventory management, internal controls and financial reporting.
- Support European 3rd party manufacturing & distribution activities.
- This is a dynamic hands-on role requiring successful candidates to demonstrate critical thinking, dealing with ambiguity and the ability to succeed in fast-paced environments.
- Proposing corrective actions and driving the execution.
Month/Quarter End Close and Reporting
- Preparing the monthly 3PL accruals and allocation of 3PL costs across Europe.
- Preparing the quarterly excess and obsolete stock provision calculations for Europe.
- Coordinating with AP, Finance Analysts and Finance Managers on operations finance queries.
- Analyzing COGS and Distribution and Transportation costs to ensure they are complete and correct before GL close.
- Analysing the monthly European Distribution and Transportation (D&T) spend and providing commentary for the monthly variances report.
- Analysing the monthly European COGS and PPV spend and providing commentary for the monthly variances report.
- Completing reconciliations related to the Operations Finance function, including providing explanations for variances above materiality threshold and resolving any differences.
- Reviewing the inventory month end file prepared by Logistics and verifying significant items as required.
- Perform monthly review of standard costing across European warehouses to identify unusual discrepancies, investigate anomalies and potential errors in costs including escalation to global stakeholders for resolution.
- Analyse the impacts of semi-annual costing revaluations and coordinate with TO Operations Finance for proposed adjustments as needed arising from costing revaluations.
- Assisting with any other monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting, reporting and analysis requirements.
- Supporting other finance team members as and when required.
Other activities
- In collaboration with Sr. Manager, Operations Finance Europe and the Europe Brand Finance team, supporting preparation of quarterly forecasts and the annual budget.
- Assisting with bi-annual D&T analysis by market for total Europe and preparing supporting analysis including bridge across periods and between GL and operational invoicing.
- Summarizing 3PL invoice files into a combined 3PL data file.
- Work with Supply Chain teams to investigate and implement cost savings opportunities in cost-to-serve.
- Testing and validating changes to standard costing and COGS account assignment.
- Support 3rd party manufacturing & distribution activities including the processes for allocating Other COGS costs and monitoring PPV.
- Provide support for the annual inventory count process including preparation and reconciliation activities, and attend annual inventory counts at 3PL locations as required.
- Provide support for the annual tooling count process preparation and reconciliation activities, and attend annual tooling counts at 3rd party vendor locations as required.
- Support the accounting and monitoring of EU01 owned tooling at 3rd party manufacturers for correct accounting, amortisation and reconciliation.
- Assist in analyzing the performance and identifying cost savings / optimization opportunities for plant manufacturing.
Projects and Initiatives
- Represent the Operations Finance team on the Company-wide strategic projects by providing insight, serving as subject matter expert, executing necessary tasks, and performing business testing.
- Assist with, and where needed lead, assigned global Operations Finance team initiatives.
- Providing support on COGS accounting projects and on the implementation of shERPa.
- Assisting with global and European ad-hoc projects and tasks as required.
Governance & Controls
- Collaborate with Internal Control to develop and update SOPs
- Ensure proper internal controls relating to operations are in place, documented, and operating effectively.
- Provide support during internal and external audits.

What are your skills and experience?
- A minimum of 4+ years of related experience within the FMCG sector or a related field; experience with supply chain operations is an advantage.
- Knowledge of SAP essential (expert knowledge desirable).
- Experience with analyzing large amounts of data and strong analytical skills.
- CPA or equivalent accounting designation is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a variety of people at different levels within the organization.
- Strong documentation skills to develop, maintain and sustain cradle-to-grave business processes SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures)
- A problem solver with ability to take self-initiative to operate independently, investigate anomalies and propose solutions.
- Advantageous if the candidate has manufacturing experience or strong exposure to manufacturing activities.
- Excellent in Data gathering and interpretation skills
- Analytical thinking and strong attention to detail with excellent follow-up
- Strong computer literacy with advanced level Excel skills (pivots, v-lookups, and advanced formulas) are required. Experience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Visio, Power BI) is desirable.
- Problem Solving skills with the ability to articulate issue with relation to current process and propose alternative solutions.
- Very good communication skills are essential
- Team player with proven ability to work well under pressure and CONSTANT deadlines

The anticipated pay for candidate starts at 2400 Eur [Per Month]. The offered pay to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, etc.
