Your opportunity
This is a distinctive hybrid role at the intersection of investment data operations, data governance and Australian regulatory reporting. You will provide local, real-time support for security setup and security master data while owning critical regulatory reporting activities. The role will also help shape the future-state operating model as Janus Henderson replatforms its investment and middle office capabilities, including the future use of Aladdin.
- Own day-to-day investment data operations for security setup and security master data, ensuring accurate, timely and controlled onboarding, maintenance and downstream distribution across investment, risk and operational processes.
- Act as the on-the-ground point of contact for the Investment Desk, Middle Office and other stakeholders, responding to time-sensitive data queries, investigating exceptions and coordinating resolution with internal teams, vendors and service providers.
- Design and operate data quality controls, reconciliations, exception management and governance processes across security, issuer, broker, counterparty and reference data.
- Conduct root-cause analysis on master data and reporting issues, implement corrective actions and drive sustainable improvements that reduce operational and regulatory risk.
- Own the end-to-end Australian regulatory reporting framework, calendar, procedures, controls, evidence and issue escalation, ensuring reporting is accurate and delivered within required timeframes.
- Lead ASIC derivative transaction reporting under RG 251, including oversight of transaction, valuation, margin and collateral reporting, exception investigation and remediation coordination.
- Coordinate RG 97 transaction fees and costs reporting for Australian funds, mandates and relevant client requests, including data collection, validation, review, approval support and delivery.
- Own ASIC threshold and substantial holding reporting, together with Australian short selling and short position reporting, including position monitoring, aggregation, assessment, submission oversight and supporting control evidence.
- Collaborate with the Client Reporting team on APRA-related investment reporting supplied to Australian clients and data repositories, including asset allocation, investment governance, country exposure and counterparty credit risk reporting.
- Act as a subject matter expert for new funds, mandates, products, custodians, administrators and service providers, defining data and reporting requirements, establishing controlled data flows, completing testing and confirming operational readiness before go-live.
- Represent Investment Data Operations and Australian Regulatory Reporting in the global investment and middle office re-platforming program, contributing to target-state design, implementation, data migration, testing, parallel run, implementation and post-go-live stabilisation.
- Monitor relevant industry and regulatory developments, assess operational and data impacts, translate change into practical requirements and communicate emerging obligations, risks and priorities to stakeholders.
- Partner with Operations, Investments, Compliance, Legal, Product, Technology, clients and external providers, providing clear guidance, challenging constructively and escalating issues appropriately.
- Maintain robust policies, procedures, data lineage, control evidence and audit-ready documentation, and contribute to automation, process improvement and operational resilience.
- Provide clear reporting to senior stakeholders on obligations, data quality, incidents, remediation, project status, capacity and emerging developments.
- Your role may require interaction with JHI offices, employees and third parties in different time zones, including the UK, USA and Asia, occasionally outside core business hours.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.
