This role in summary
Whirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Finance Analyst. This is an onsite role at our Greenville, Ohio location.
The Finance Analyst – Manufacturing Operations serves as a vital financial co-pilot to plant leadership, operations, materials, and engineering teams at the Greenville manufacturing facility. In this role, you will drive operational efficiency by analyzing labor metrics and variances, managing plant spending and inventory controls, and delivering timely month-end close routines and forward-looking forecasts.
Your responsibilities will include
- Track and report core plant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), specifically Hours Per Equivalent Unit (HPEU), line yields, and daily/weekly operational efficiency metrics.
- Perform root-cause variance analyses on direct/indirect labor costs, overtime spikes, downtime impacts, and throughput to advise plant leadership on corrective actions.
- Sox control documentation and support of the process
- Support the development of the annual Profit Plan, quarterly operational forecasts, and long-range capacity planning for the facility.
- Support forecast departmental spending budgets, maintenance/tool crib (MRO) supplies, non-production inventory, and utility cost accruals.
- Execute monthly Excess & Uncommitted Raw Material Obsolescence (Obso) reserve calculations in SAP and perform account reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end financial closing entries, cost allocations, balance sheet reconciliations, and SOX/IPE audit documentation.
- Any adhoc as necessary
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- 1+ years of experience in manufacturing administration
Preferred skills and experiences
- Experience working on-site within a manufacturing or plant operations environment
- Bachelor's degree in Finance
- Strong foundational understanding of standard costing, manufacturing variance analysis, and operational cost drivers
- Practical experience utilizing SAP ECC / SAP BW for inventory transactions (e.g., ZMB51) and cost center reporting
- Experience with automated account reconciliation software (e.g., BlackLine)
- Proven capability to translate complex shop-floor operational data into clear, actionable financial narratives for non-finance cross-functional partners
- Technical Knowledge: Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, lookups, pivot tables, financial modeling) and working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP ECC / SAP BW)
