Full description

Primeforge is building a pipeline of Platform Engineers for potential placement into US enterprise delivery teams.

We are looking for engineers who want to work at the intersection of data platforms, infrastructure, automation, governance, and software delivery. This role supports the operational side of enterprise analytics platforms, including Alteryx, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI.

This is not primarily a dashboard-development or workflow-building role. The work is about helping keep platforms stable, secure, governed, visible, and improving. You will support platform administration, access management, monitoring, capacity awareness, upgrades, incident coordination, documentation, and communication with technical support teams and vendors.

You do not need to be an expert in every platform on day one. Strong candidates will have real hands-on experience with at least one enterprise data, analytics, infrastructure, or application platform - and the technical judgment and curiosity to grow across the rest.

What you'll do

  • Support the administration and day-to-day operation of enterprise analytics and data platforms, including Alteryx, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI
  • Help manage user access, roles, permissions, workspace or platform configuration, and related governance processes
  • Monitor platform health, performance, usage, capacity, refreshes, scheduled workloads, and recurring operational risks
  • Support upgrades, patches, maintenance, releases, and approved platform changes through established change-control processes
  • Investigate platform issues, gather the right technical information, and coordinate effectively with L3 support teams and software vendors
  • Help initiate and track software packaging, deployment, release, and platform-change activity
  • Maintain clear documentation, runbooks, knowledge articles, support procedures, and escalation paths
  • Identify repeat issues and contribute to automation, reliability, observability, and operational-improvement work
  • Work within a US client’s delivery cadence: tickets, standups, planning, risk reviews, status updates, and delivery deadlines
  • Communicate clearly in English with engineers, platform owners, support teams, vendors, and business stakeholders

Requirements

These are the baseline requirements for this role.

  • 2-4 years of professional experience in platform engineering, infrastructure, enterprise application support, data engineering, analytics operations, or a closely related technical role
  • Hands-on experience supporting, administering, or operating a production technology platform - not only developing against it
  • Experience with at least one of the following:
  • Alteryx Server or related analytics-platform administration
  • Microsoft Fabric or Power BI administration
  • Cloud, data-platform, infrastructure, or enterprise application operations
  • Practical understanding of user access, permissions, RBAC, identity, or enterprise governance processes
  • Experience investigating issues, following support procedures, and escalating clearly to more senior technical teams or vendors
  • Comfortable working with tickets, documentation, checklists, and operational priorities
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Able to work independently, ask good questions, communicate blockers early, and follow through reliably

Valuable experience

You do not need every item below. Strong candidates will have depth insome of these areas and the ability to learn the rest

  • Alteryx Server: Gallery, Controller, Workers, user administration, licensing, upgrades, or monitoring
  • Microsoft Power BI or Fabric: workspaces, capacities, gateways, refreshes, tenant settings, deployment pipelines, or governance
  • Azure, AWS, cloud infrastructure, or data-platform services
  • SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or relational database administration
  • Monitoring, observability, incident management, or operational reporting
  • PowerShell, Python, APIs, scripting, or automation
  • ITSM tools, change management, release coordination, or enterprise support processes
  • Docker, CI/CD, software deployment, or package-management workflows
  • Data pipelines, data quality, reporting platforms, or analytics operations

What success looks like

Within your first months on a client team, you can:

  • Take ownership of defined platform-support work without needing constant direction
  • Explain the health, risks, current priorities, and open issues of the platform work you support
  • Handle routine administration, access requests, monitoring, and incident coordination reliably
  • Work within governance, security, access, and change-management expectations
  • Escalate issues with the right evidence, context, and urgency
  • Keep documentation and handoffs clean enough that others can operate from them
  • Earn trust through consistency, good judgment, and follow-through

How we work with AI

I is part of modern technology delivery at Primeforge. We use it to move faster: exploring unfamiliar systems, drafting documentation and runbooks, analysing logs, generating implementation options, accelerating troubleshooting, and reducing repetitive work.

AI does not replace engineering judgment.

You are still responsible for understanding the systems you work in, validating output, protecting client information, following approved change processes, and standing behind the work you deliver. Strong platform engineers use AI to improve their leverage, not to avoid thinking.

What we offer

  • Competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including savings account contributions, daily catered lunches, commuting allowance, paid time off, and more.
  • Real delivery experience with global enterprise clients
  • Structured mentorship and a pathway to deepen your data-engineering specialization
  • An opportunity to be part of a mission-driven company transforming the tech landscape in West Africa.
  • A high-accountability environment where strong work creates real career momentum

If you’re passionate about software, data and platform engineering and want to grow your career with Primeforge, we’d love to hear from you!
