Full description

Abrigo is looking for a Product Business Analyst with hands-on payments knowledge to help financial institutions implement AFD. You’ll work with customers and teams across Product, Implementations, and Integration Engineering to turn payment operations and data exchanges into clear, practical requirements.

This role is a fit for someone who understands how payment workflows operate in real financial institutions and can connect that knowledge to the systems, data, and decisions behind an implementation. You’ll also help turn lessons from individual projects into reusable knowledge that makes future implementations more consistent. This position can be based in Raleigh, NC, Austin, TX, or remote and will report to the Senior Director, Product Compliance.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead discovery of customers' check, wire, ACH, and instant payment workflows, systems, processors, and data exchanges.
  • Translate customer needs into clear requirements, process documentation, and acceptance criteria for technical teams.
  • Facilitate working sessions, review customer and processor materials, and surface assumptions, gaps, risks, and decisions.
  • Partner with Integration Engineering on design, testing, issue resolution, and changes throughout implementation.
  • Maintain documentation such as ecosystem diagrams, data mapping inputs, workflow notes, test scenarios, and decision records.
  • Capture patterns and lessons learned to improve implementation practices, product capabilities, and shared payment expertise.
  • Occasional travel required for team events to support engagement, relationship-building, and enterprise efforts.

What You’ll Need:

  • Experience in payments operations, payment technology, financial institution implementations, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in check, ACH, and wire payments
  • Business analysis skills, including requirements gathering, process analysis, stakeholder facilitation, and clear documentation.
  • Working knowledge of financial institution systems and processor environments for check, wire, ACH, and instant payments.
  • Ability to interpret data exchange documentation and explain business needs to technical and customer audiences.
  • Familiarity with integrations, data mapping, testing, and deployment; experience with file-based or API-based exchanges is helpful.
  • Strong organization, communication, and follow-through across concurrent projects.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent years of experience.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with a bank, credit union, payment processor, core provider, or fintech company is a plus.
  • Familiarity with file layouts, interface specifications, managed file transfer, batch processing, acknowledgments, rejects, or reconciliation.

What You’ll Get:

  • The opportunity to Make Big Things Happen
  • Competitive salary along with full health benefits with an HSA option
  • Flexible PTO and bank holidays
