JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for performing Operations & Maintenance analytical support activities for all Renewable & Resilient Generation facilities following COD. The main focus of analytics will be reviewing existing fleet performance, trending operational gaps/opportunities to address, engaging with industry partners on new metrics for BESS and DER performance, producing complex energy models, and more. This position plays a critical role in our ability to operate and maintain over 5GW of generation over the next 5 years.

Responsibilities

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote a strong safety culture across the organization through supporting O&M initiatives and assisting with safety data trend analysis as needed
  • Generate complex energy models to allow smarter prediction of expected renewable output vs actual output to drive performance enhancements across the fleet
  • Review existing solar fleet performance and maintenance data and offer solutions and trends to enhance performance
  • Review performance goals against data sets to ensure targets are properly aligned
  • Engage in the industry for BESS and DER performance and maintenance data trends and best practices to implement at Georgia Power
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for Renewable & Resilient Generation performance data
  • Support existing generation fleet and new facilities following COD with all data related needs
  • Look for ways to align with other organizations across Southern Company bringing efficiencies, lessons learned, and stronger strategy to Renewable & Resilient Generation

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)

  • Engineering, Data Analytics, or other related degree strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of renewable energy and application of solar and BESS technologies is preferred
  • Proficient in project management, communicating technical details to a wide variety of stakeholders, and system performance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is required
  • Experience with data management techniques to access, integrate, analyze, and visualize data from multiple sources is required
  • Experience in data analytics platforms is required (Tableau, PowerBI, etc.)
  • Databricks experience is preferred
  • GitHub experience is preferred
  • Strong critical thinking skills with ability to recognize patterns and make solution-oriented recommendations
  • Strongly demonstrates Our Values and contributes to maintaining a strong team culture
  • Ability to work well with a diverse mix of internal and external partners including higher level leaders at critical customer facilities and military facilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
