About the role
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will build and maintain data models, pipelines, and dashboards to support reporting, analytics, and influence data-driven decision-making. Working with cross-functional teams, you will turn business needs into clear data solutions and actionable insights
What you’ll be doing
- Ensure data models and dashboards are up to date with BGL client compliance and business reporting requirements
- Stay up to date with developments in DBT, AWS and analytics engineering and apply improvements where there is opportunities
- Continuously look for opportunities to improve data quality, pipeline reliability and dashboard usability for BGL internal teams
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as engineering, product, sales and operations to define metrics and deliver data solutions
- Drive regular reporting cycles including monthly and quarterly business reviews
- Support stakeholders to define metrics, calculation logic, and reporting requirements before translating them into DBT models
- Investigate and resolve data discrepancies, anomalies, and dashboard issues communicated by internal teams
- Manage data ingestion from third-party sources through Airbyte, including GA4, Google Sheets, and other SaaS platforms as needed
- Deploy and monitor DBT jobs through Jenkins CI/CD, review run logs to troubleshoot failures, and collaborate with DevOps team to resolve pipeline or access issues
- Build and maintain internal dashboards and charts in Apache Superset, including managing users, roles, dataset access, and row-level security controls
What we’re looking for
- A formal qualification of a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Data Science, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
- 3 years of experience in a Senior Data Analyst role
- 5 years of experience in a Data Analyst role
- Experience using data technologies like DBT, Hadoop, Spark/PySpark, or Athena/Presto
- Experience with AWS cloud or similar
- Excellent problem-solving skills with an entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work independently
- Expert communication skills with an ability to influence cross functional teams and leaders
- Understanding of Superannuation legislation and compliance requirements is nice to have
- Ability to effectively prioritise tasks to achieve deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile methodology
