The successful candidate will directly support the Theater Operational Planning-Toolkit (TOP-T), a critical Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) mission integration and planning tool. Fielded in multiple theaters and utilized in real-world operations, TOP-T mitigates Anti-Access/Area Denial (A2/AD) challenges and supports Sensor-to-Shooter architectures.
This is a dual-impact role where you will not only be our go-to expert for technical documentation but also a key contributor to our software testing efforts. You will directly support the Theater Operational Planning-Toolkit (TOP-T), a critical Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) mission integration and planning tool. Fielded in multiple theaters, TOP-T is used in real-world operations to mitigate Anti-Access/Area Denial (A2/AD) challenges and support Sensor-to-Shooter architectures.
As a core member of our on-site IVV&E team at Redstone Arsenal, AL, you will play a vital part in ensuring the quality and usability of this critical system.
Responsibilities
Duties of the tech writer position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develop, write, and edit a variety of technical documents, including training manuals, user guides, reports, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure all documentation meets military standards for style, format, and quality.
- Collaborate with engineers, software developers, and business partners to translate complex technical information into clear, concise content.
- Design and incorporate graphics, illustrations, and presentations to enhance technical materials.
- Participate in software testing activities as an integral member of the IVV&E team.
- Contribute to project deliverables and track performance metrics.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree and at least 1 year of experience in technical writing or developing training materials.
- An active DoD security clearance, with the ability to maintain it.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Proven ability to manage complex assignments and develop innovative solutions.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), including Microsoft 365.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical skills and the capacity to learn new information quickly.
- Willingness to travel if needed.
- Preferred: Knowledge of military documentation standards and formats.

- Regular i3 hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, however, additional hours may be required on occasion. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
