Salesforce Architect

Location: Remote / Washington, DC

Need IRS MBI Clearance.

We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Architect to lead the design and delivery of secure, scalable, and compliant Salesforce solutions in support of IRS and other federal agency programs. This role requires deep knowledge of Salesforce platform capabilities, strong integration experience, and familiarity with federal IT and security standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with federal stakeholders and business teams to gather requirements and design end-to-end Salesforce solutions that align with IRS program goals and compliance mandates.

• Architect enterprise-grade solutions using Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Salesforce Shield.

• Lead technical design sessions and oversee development efforts in line with Salesforce best practices and federal data security policies (e.g., IRS 1075, FedRAMP High, NIST 800-171).

• Guide and review custom development using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce, and Flows.

• Integrate Salesforce with federal legacy systems and third-party platforms using REST/SOAP APIs, middleware (e.g., MuleSoft), and secure authentication protocols.

• Oversee data modeling, role hierarchies, and access controls to ensure compliant access and information governance.

• Support configuration of secure mobile and desktop access to Salesforce per IRS security standards.

• Evaluate Salesforce platform updates for their applicability in the federal environment and lead adoption strategies.

• Mentor junior Salesforce developers and ensure quality delivery through governance and documentation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

• Salesforce System Architect or Application Architect certification preferred.

• 5+ years of experience architecting and delivering Salesforce solutions in complex environments.

• Proven track record working on public sector or federal projects (IRS, DHS, DoD, etc.).

• Strong development experience with Apex, LWC, Visualforce, and Salesforce Flows.

• Hands-on experience with Salesforce integrations using MuleSoft, API gateways, or ETL tools.

• Familiarity with federal compliance and cybersecurity frameworks (IRS 1075, NIST, FedRAMP).

• Excellent communication and documentation skills; ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
