Clearance:

Ability to obtain and maintain a Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) for our Department of Treasury customer. Candidates must reside in, and perform all work from, the continental United States or its outlying territories.

 

Location:

Remote (United States)

 

Work Schedule:

Full-time, remote. Must be available during core business hours (Eastern Time) to support scheduled stakeholder calls and review activities. Occasional travel may be required.

 

Salary Range:

$52,000 to $70,000 annually, commensurate with experience

 

Position Overview:

AptNexus is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented self-starter to serve as a Project Coordinator supporting a cybersecurity compliance program for our Department of Treasury customer. The program conducts recurring cybersecurity compliance reviews of government partner organizations to confirm that sensitive information entrusted to them is properly protected. In this role, you will coordinate the preparation phase of these reviews by managing stakeholder outreach, scheduling meetings in accordance with project plans and review schedules, tracking documentation, and keeping every review on schedule. The ideal candidate takes ownership of their work, operates with minimal supervision, and takes pride in getting every detail right.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate pre-review activities for cybersecurity compliance assessments, including stakeholder outreach, information requests, and collection of required documentation.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings and conference calls among customer personnel, external stakeholders, and technical assessment teams in accordance with project plans and review schedules.
  • Build and maintain project calendars, review schedules, and trackers; identify and resolve scheduling conflicts before they affect timelines.
  • Track receipt of stakeholder documentation, follow up promptly on missing or incomplete items, and maintain accurate records in the customer’s case management system.
  • Prepare and distribute correspondence and review preparation packages, verifying that recipients receive the correct and current versions of all materials.
  • Capture detailed meeting notes and action items, and follow through to ensure action items are closed.
  • Assist technical staff in compiling information for review planning and scoping documents, verifying completeness and accuracy before submission.
  • Coordinate logistics for planning sessions and stakeholder meetings, including invitations, agendas, and distribution of materials.
  • Maintain status of reviews, milestones, and deliverable due dates; provide regular updates to the Project Manager; and contribute to performance dashboards and status reports.
  • Perform quality checks on outgoing documents for formatting, file naming, version control, and conformance with customer procedures and templates.
  • Adapt quickly to schedule changes, unplanned reviews, and shifting stakeholder availability.
  • Comply with all customer security, privacy, and records management requirements, using only Government-furnished equipment and approved systems.

 

Required Skills

  • One to three years of experience in project coordination, scheduling, or operations support, preferably in cybersecurity, IT, compliance, audit, or federal contracting. Recent graduates with relevant internship or academic project experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrated experience, whether professional, internship, or academic, identifying and applying information security or cybersecurity requirements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to manage many concurrent schedules, deadlines, and documents with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Self-starter who takes ownership of assignments, anticipates next steps, and drives tasks to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to schedule and coordinate meetings across multiple stakeholders, organizations, and time zones in accordance with project plans.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Outlook calendar management, Word, Excel, and Teams. Experience with Microsoft Project, SharePoint, or a case management or ticketing system is preferred.
  • Working familiarity with information security concepts and frameworks such as the NIST Risk Management Framework or NIST SP 800-53 is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while remaining highly responsive during core business hours.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and courteous approach to customer personnel and external stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and dependable, with sound judgment in handling sensitive information.
  • Must meet federal eligibility requirements for a position of public trust, including U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency, federal tax compliance, Selective Service registration (if applicable), a credit check, and fingerprinting.
  • Must complete customer-required security awareness training upon onboarding and annually thereafter. 

Education Requirement:

Associate’s degree or higher from a minimum two-year information technology or cybersecurity program at an accredited college or university. Candidates with a high school diploma and one of the certifications listed above will also be considered. A bachelor’s degree in information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field is preferred.
